Just back -small problem with beer(long)

When we went in Feb we took a rolling collapsable cooler with about a case of beer and a case of pop. We tried to put it through the Xray machine but it was too tall and we could barely lift it. The person who was running the machine called to a superviser who came over and said "How much beer do you have?" She was smiling and I think DH thought she was joking and he laughed and said "a Sixpack". She looked very serious, I thought- Oh no, here we go getting kicked off for lying. Then she just said -- "Go ahead" and let us go around without opening it. I
was very uncomfortable... and surprised when she let it pass. For a second it looked like we weren't going to be able to bring it on....

Am I getting this straight? We will be ok if we load our wheeled soft-sided cooler on with just soda or non-alcoholic drinks (or at least *primarily* with those)?

Is it the beer limit per adult that is the problem, or the small cooler itself?
