Just back--reviews of the YC and CR with pictures

I think the ? about where to see the MK fireworks, etc. if you are in the garden wing was answered. We stayed in the North Wing which is gone now. You could actually see the fireworks from some windows in the hallway and from some of those balconies that faced the MK.

Great reviews and pictures.

I do have a question: are the sofas in both resorts beds as well?? I'm looking for a resort that has these, as my kids will be 15 and 12 when we go again and they don't like sharing a bed!

HockeyMom:

We are also staying at the CR in June. What are your concerns? This is the first time we are staying on property. The cost was steep which was a concern but I went for the convenience to the monorail, park etc. with a 77year mother, 17yr son, and 3yr niece.

We have not stayed at CR before, my concerns are probably unfounded, we just really like Y&BC. I am just a little concerned about the construction at CR, but the location is great and the rooms look fabulous! We have stayed at Poly and GF and liked both very much.

The construction didn't bother us in the slightest. I don't know if it would be noticeable if your tower room was on the Bay Lake side instead of the MK side though. I say give it a try! I had always wanted to try the CR, and I'm glad I did.

Terri.M, The sofas in both the CR and YC could probably be used as very small beds. With your kids ages, I'm not sure they would fit comfortably though since the sofas are short. I think the sofa at the CR might unfold a bit (we didn't try it though), but the one at the YC doesn't. Either way, it's probably too short for anyone over 5 feet tall is my guess.

We just returned from our stay at the CR also (Dec. 15 - 22). I'm 5'8" and slept comfortably on the daybed which pulls up and folds down to make a bed approximately twin-sized. I don't think anyone much taller though could fit on the daybed.

We were up on the 12th floor, MK side on Chef Mickey's end and found the noise level high at times ("Celebrate...") but became very used to it. It seemed a minor nuisance to us for the major convenience of the monorail and proximity to so many restaurants etc.

Thank you for your pictures and for your reviews of both the Cont. and YC. I love reading reviews of the different resorts. Those pictures from the Cont of MK are awesome!

I'm glad to hear that the daybeds at CR can accommodate someone a bit taller than I thought. Since it was just DH and I in the room, we didn't need to try it out.

Yes, the celebrate part is what bothered us. I'm sure that some folks wouldn't be as bothered by it, but it really disturbed our sleep in the mornings. I just feel that with the tower rooms being pretty expensive (and I don't mind paying for Disney's deluxe resorts, though I think they are a bit steep for what you get), they could've done more to soundproof the tower rooms, especially on the Chef Mickey's end. You're right about the location being top notch!
