We just got back from a 4 night stayy and thought we'd shoot a quick review of our dining:
Day one-grabbed a quick breakfast when we got there. Both of us had croissant sanwiches which were very good. We missed our ADR at Prime Time for dinner so we ate at POP's food court-it was just okay-we both had burgers and they were warm at best-fries were limp and warm.
Day two-we had breakfast at POP and I had the ham n cheese omlet and it was fresh and hot...very good! my wife opted to have toast with a side of bacon...what can you say about that?
Lunch/early dinner was Chefs de France. I had the short ribs and my wife had the half chicken. Food was excellent! I now know why people rave about the shirt ribs. They were amazingly tender. My wife stripped the chicken to the bone...I told her she should have eaten more at breakfast...
Day three-breakfast at Trails End Buffeteria....loved it! Price had gone up to $15.99 per person but it was well worth it. I was surprised that the place wasn't packed.
Late lunch/early dinner was scheduled at Kona. We arrived at 4:30 and checked in. We were the first to check in anc came back at 4:55. We watched as the took walk ups and others who checked in after we got there without calling for us. Keep in mind they opened at 5:00 and were totally empty. Another couple that was there waiting next to us was the second to check in and they were not being called either. When I went up and asked they said we would be called soon. After waiting for 15 minutes we said screw it and handed in our pager. I told them they needed to get their act together. There was no organization with the staff and no evidence of management being present. The other couple that was waiting with us asked where we were going and we told them Earl of Sandwich. As we wal;ked away we saw them turn in their pager as well. We ran into them at EOS later on. Earl was excellent as always but you definitely do not need a sandwich and a salad...either one would have been enough
Day 4 we had breakfast at POP's food court. I had the bounty platter and other than the French toast being limp, everything was very good. My wife opted for a cinnamon roll.
We had a late lunch scheduled for Via Napoli but I wanted to eat earlier and tryed to get an earlier one and was suurprised at how many places had openings. I decided to schedule a dinner as well and was shocked to find Le Cellier was available.
We ended up eating lunch at Via Napoli at 12:45 and it was delicious. we had a large pepperoni and mugs of cold beer. It was more than enough for two people.
For dinner we ate at Olivia's at OKW and it was wonderful. I had the ribs and the adventerous wife had the turkey club. The ribs were a jerk spiced and had plenty of heat.
Last day was breakfast at POP. We both had ham and cheese omlets that were fresh out of the pans and great for a food court
Other than the Kona incident, our dining was a good experience
