(Sorry for the long thread)

First off let me say that I believe that the WDW Magic is alive and well. I think this was our best trip ever. We didn't see any truly shocking moments, or heard any CM's say anything outrageous, or even heard any funny comments (besides from my daughter, which I'll get to later), but we had a truly fantastic trip.

We stayed at VWL from Sunday, 12/11 to Wednesday 12/14. When we arrived around lunch time we got our DVC "Welcome Home" and were able to get into our room right away. Our room was shining when we came in and the kids immediately started running around and making it there own. 5 minutes later, they were ready to hit MK.

Our schedule was MK Sunday afternoon, Epcot for morning EMH to do Soarin', then MGM for their opening on Monday. Then Epcot Monday evening. Tuesday is MK all day ending with the Xmas party (break in btwn), and then finishing up with MK Wednesday morning before flight home. All of the parks had people in it, but we were able to walk on to every ride. Our longest wait may have been 10 minutes. Having been there in the summer, I consider 10 minutes a "walk-on" ;) The decorations were AWESOME! We really got into the holiday spirit with all of the decorations, music and clothes worn by the CMs.

All of the CMs were very nice and seemed to pour on the Disney magic while we were there (at least to us). And even all of the guests were on their best behavior. :rotfl2:

Our magical moments:
After I don't know how many trips, I finally got to see PUSH the trash can. It is funny, I had never even heard of him, until I came to the DISboards. This was the first trip, since coming on the boards and voila, there he was. My DD got to interact with him and she kept looking inside, but couldn't figure it out. My DW and I saw the controller and just had a great smile on.

Our DS 15 months finally got to interact with the characters. The last time he was there was when he was 3 months. He has seen enough Mickey stuff around our home. So when we walked into the room and there he was ::MickeyMo , my DS couldn't stop laughing and pointing and shaking his fists. It truly was so magical. My DW and I both had a tear in our eyes.

Another was getting to ride BTMR and SM with my DD4. She was a little nervous, but after each ride would shout, "Daddy, I liked that ride!" And we all got to go on Soarin' as well (well, at least DW, DD and I through baby swap).

And the most magical moment for us was when we sat for the 8:15 Xmas parade on Tues. We got to Liberty Square early and sat down. Along comes two young girls, and brunette and blond, (probably early 20s) and sits next to our DD. Immediately, our DD starts talking to them and them to her. They are being soooo sweet to her and asking her who her favorite princess was and all. When the parade starts it is immediately apparent that these girls worked at the park b/c they knew everyone in the parade and everyone knew them. Everytime a character would come over they would tell them about Linnea and Kai, our DD and DS, and the characters would give an extra shake or pat to our kids. When the parade was over, they told us if we were in the park tomorrow to head over to Toon Town to meet the princesses. The next morning, which was the day we were flying home, we make it to Toon Town and into the princess tent and low and behold, the blonde girl from the parade was Cinderella. She recognizes us immediately and waves over to our family. Luckily our DD didn't recongnize her, but Cindy starts asking her how she liked the parade and spends all of this xtra time with her. Then she writes on 3 pages of both our kids books and gives them xtra kisses on their cheeks and books. It was absolutely wonderful and our DD keeps talking about it. And we were so impressed how the girl seperated her character from herself and stayed in character when we saw her in Toon Town. Also, at the parade, when I asked if we should look out for anyone in particular, trying to hint, she still didn't give on. Just impressed my DW and I how professional she was, even out of costume.

Oh, and the funny comment was how our DD started talking to the girls in the first place. We had just finished riding BTMR before we sat down. When the girls arrive our DD leans over to them and yells, "I just got down riding the Polar Express!"

And finally our one and only shocking moment. And this really isn't a "shocking" moment rather than an IMPRESSIVE moment. We were in Toon Town (can you tell we spent a lot of time there) and this woman walks by us. She is directing her DS and her parents around where to go and what to see and walking with them, the whole time while she is breastfeeding her DD. My DW and I were like, "WOW, now that is a SUPERMOM!" We were soooo impressed. We wanted to go back and tell her how impressed we were, but figured in her situation, she had enough going on.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this and again, the WDW magic is alive and well!

I also saw PUSH for the first time this past trip and had a blast just sitting there watching him interact with the kids. I also saw the controller and watched him, but noticed not too many others realized where he was. He moved around the crowd a lot. It was so funny because my DD had her birthday button on and PUSH sang happy birthday to her. That was something that had never happend before- being sung happy birthday to by a trash can. He also asked for my DD to give him a hug. That was priceless. Glad you all had a great trip. Wish we were there!!!!

Cool! :cool1: I'm glad your trip was such a blast! Counting down the days until we leave...

The princess story is awesome, what a wonderful memory!!

The Magic lives on! princess:

When my son, now 11, was 2 mo. old we went to WDW-gift from brother, Anyway, breastfeeding was a concern-at the time NO ONE went to the Tiki Bird room. That was a great place to nurse him. Now, every year, until this day DS REQUESTS that we go to the Tiki room. He must have some fond mammories--I mean memories! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting. I love the magic in toon town and the parade.

My girls are about the same age as yours and we will be there in less then 3 weeks. We are very excited about this (more then Christmas actually!)

I must admit I have been one of those walking and breastfeeding moms when the moment calls for it. (I would rather not.) I can't recall for sure if I ever had at WDW, but I have breastfeed all around the place. I think more then likely I have. (especailly with the 2nd child when you are follwing the oldest kid! ;)

Thanks for all of the nice comments. We really did have a lot of fun. And I have to say to all of those moms who breast feed while walking and giving commands to the other family members, KOODOOS to you! That is the true definition of multitasking.

Thanks for sharing your magical memory, so nice to hear a totally positive experience and I agree that mom is super,

Claire xx

I was afraid I was going to open this up and see one of those, "My children were scarred for life by seeing a woman breastfeeding in the Magic Kingdom," threads.

Thanks for proving me wrong. :cheer2:

While a bit complicated, the ability to walk and breastfeed at the same time does come in handy! I've done it many times at WDW, among other places, and it's a real time saver - especiallly when you have a very frequent nurser, like my little guy was.

Sounds like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your trip report. Sounds like a magical time was had by all. :wizard:

I also was expecting a 'I was scarred by the sight of breastfeeding' comment- ;) But I have to agree with you- that was a Supermom!
I don't think I'm coordinated enough to be able to do that. Sure would make my life easier, though :)

ohh... I forgot to say- I'm glad you had a great trip!

glad you had a great trip. Thanks for sharing the princess story!!! It was magical.

I was also a bit nervous opening this thread, and was pleasantly surprised to see a positive comment about a breastfeeding mom.
It brought back one of my favourite memories of nursing my youngest DD as a baby at an amusement park here in Ontario. We were in an outdoor food court having some lunch and I was trying to discretely nurse my 10 month old (this is easier said than done). As I scanned the area, making sure that I wasn't totally exposed/offending anyone, another mom who was nursing a newborn caught my eye and gave me a thumbs-up. I felt like I had a sister in that crowd of strangers and I get a little chill just thinking about it.

Thanks for the great report and thanks for not letting me down. Glad you had a magical trip!

Sounds like you guys had a great time!! I agree the Magic is still alive...

Me and DD7 was at WDW in September.. Here she is with PUSH...

Throughout the day we had to keep going back to the same spot to see if he was there!! On the third trip back he was there again.. He kept her amused for at least an hour... :teeth:

Thanks for the report! I have been to WDW many times and have never heard of Push. Sounds so funny!

I love how that mom multi-tasked! I have walked and breastfed at the same time (in airports when my husband was stationed in Japan we did a LOT of traveling) and it takes great balance and skill :)

I just got back from WDW with my youngest child, girl age 7. I have two teenage boys and we had never gotten to explore toon town before. We had so much fun in toon town, I never knew that there was so much to offer there. She loved Minnie's house. Another thing I was impressed with was the princesses (we had lunch with them). They were so kind and really made her feel special. I am so glad your trip was filled with magic, thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I thought people might be a bit nervous with that heading, but don't worry, I'm all pro-breastfeeding (okay, that sounds a bit funny there. ). My DW breastfed our DS on our last trip when he was only 3 months. Our thought is, if they are hungry, they are hungry. He doesn't care where he eats, so why should we care where we feed him (obviously, there are sanitation limits :rotfl2: ). Granted my DW couldn't, or at least never tried, breastfeeding while walking, but WDW is a family place and breastfeeding is a natural thing, so our thought is whereever mom and baby are comfortable is good for us.

Anyway, whoever has a trip coming up, I wish you well, b/c like I said before, we believe the magic is alive and well. We went into the trip looking for a good time and really just took in all of the fun attitudes and our kids excitement. There may have been shocking things going on, but we didn't notice them or care to seek them out. If you go there looking for a good time and have a positive attitude with you (who doesn't, it's WDW! ;) ) then I'm sure the magic is going to be alive and well for your trips. Have a great time! Oh, and if you're there Feb 12-17, then we'll see you there.
