Hey there everyone! We flew home last night and I just wanted to give you all an up-date on POR. Our experience was - for the most part - GREAT!!!! No problems at all with Mousekeeping. They were very good, personable, and thoughtful. The room was cleaned well and the towel animals were adorable. The food court was kept open a couple of extra nights - grabbed a burger there. They were not completely "up and running" but they did the best they could and the food was actually pretty good. Boatwright's was awesome - the pancakes and french toast were great and the coffee was WONDERFUL for those of you who withdraw - as I do - from lack of a couple of fresh cups in the morning. The grounds were beautiful. The gift shop was very nice and well stocked. The ease of having your luggage checked for you and your boarding passes printed there before you leave for the airport was such a nice experience as well. The staff could not have been more considerate. Hope you all have a wonderful experience as well. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks to all for the help in planning our trip. It would not have been as enjoyable without your guidance!:woohoo:

 Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great experience. We will be staying at POR in March. Can't wait!

Myrtle,
After they closed the food court, could you still use refillable mugs? We are going in 5 weeks and I am hopeful that there will still be a beverage station.

Glad you had a good experience at POR. We are looking forward to our first stay at that resort in June.

How was the bus transportation?

Which building did you stay in?

Thanks,

Jen

Nice happy to hear yo had a good time. We will be going there in a week. what building did you stay in.

Good to hear you had a good experience at POR - we will be staying there on Januar 22 and have been worried about the housekeeping issues and the closed restaurant. Did they have a place to grab coffee and donuts in the a.m.? Which bldg. did you stay in?

Hey guys! We did not use the refillable mugs as we stopped on the way, grabbed a few items (i.e. - cokes) and didn't find we needed the mugs as we had the snack credits which we used a couple of times for drinks. I did see people with them after the food court closed and it looked like they were getting them filled near Boatwright's. They apparently had a counter service area just off Boatwright's - between it and Fulton's store - can't miss it. Looked very comfortable and there were a lot of people in there eating and relaxing - kids as well. Stayed in room 9804 in a building that starts with a "p" (sorry - weird name - near Magnolia Bend.) Room was not optimum but not bad either. We didn't request a particular room as location didn't really matter to us. We were there so little and used a rental car which I'm very happy we did as it allowed us to come and go a bit more freely. Used Enterprise. Service was good but I really felt they tried to pressure me into purchasing their insurance plan for $19.99 per day. I declined it as I'd read before the trip that if I have full coverage there's really no need to invest in it. After we arrived there were travel tips listed on the t.v. - one of which was to reconsider before purchasing the insurance as - if you pay with a credit card - you usually have additional coverage. Bus transportation looked really good. The parks were more crowded than usual this time of year due to Christmas break and the marathon. Didn't see long lines at a single bus
station and heard no complaints from those using the system. A couple of suggestions tho' - if you plan to ride Everest (which is absolutely awesome) get there early as the fastpass tickets were not being distributed after around 11:30. Don't think twice about staying for Wishes or Fantasmic:woohoo: - they were really great and we had no problem at all getting to each 30 minutes before the beginning of each. Our viewing locations were great.

Hope this helps. Will check again this afternoon should you have more questions.

How did you have them print your boarding passes?:goodvibes

I haven't attempted to print my passes yet - we are flying Southwest and in the ticketless confirmation there is a link to print them. I am assuming that it will work. It also states to do this 24 hours before departure.

Just went to the lobby at the airport/luggage check-in desk. Don't be too worried about lines as it actually moves quite quickly. REMEMBER - you have to give them at least 3 hours to get everything done so arrive early for check-in. ;) I gave them a copy of my flight confirmation with the number on it and my drivers license for identification. They printed them out for me, loaded my luggage, and all was done. It was awesome! Our flight was sch'd to depart at 4:53p.m. We had breakfast in Boatwright's at 8:10a.m., grabbed our luggage, headed for the check-in desk, and were finished in 5-10 minutes - max. Then headed over to Epcot for some rides and shopping. Had lunch in Germany, caught the boat back to Mexico, caught the tram to the car, and headed towards Enterprise. They shuttled us to the airport in no time at all. Enjoy!;)

:lmao: This made me laugh and I spit out my coffee. I think I'll skip over to Germany for lunch today and then take the boat back to Mexico for the afternoon and return to Connecticut in the evening!

I am so glad your stay was good. March 9-16 will be our first stay at a mod---POR--- I had seen several negative posts and was beginning to worry. I called Disney and no other mod available. I was STRESSED!! Then I read your post and felt o.k. I really want to stay @ POR, but did not like some of the things i was reading. You made my day...i am going to relax and get ready for our trip:banana:
