Just back POR 17th-25th

Pretty much i disliked this resort. Will never stay there again. CBR and WL are soooooooooo much better. First off we were put in aligator bayou 28. It was a hike to the fort court and buses. There is only one bus stop running at this resort. Second off very poor choice in food selection. Only two places to eat besides boatwrites. TWO THUMBS DOWN

Was the resort busy? How long was the bus wait (once you actually made it to the bus stop)? Did you find portions of the food court closed?

nothing in the food court was closed. The waits really varied. Somedays it was 5 minutes the next 20-25 minutes. The resort was really empty up until the 24th since it was memorial day weekend. Most rides were 5 minute waits.

If there was more choice in the foodcourt and you were closer to it would you have liked the resort or was the theming just not your thing ??? I am sorry you did not enjoy the resort. Personally I loved it, however I have never stayed at any other moderate resort, but would like to try CBR sometime in nr future. What did you think of the rooms ?

the rooms were alright it was about the same as cbr just different theaming. I dont know the resort really didnt feel that magical like the resorts i stayed at. And the food court didnt have that many selections like the other resorts. The maids werent that nice either. I left generous tips and got nothing in return. They didnt even replace the soap two days. I also walked in on one maid and she was watching tv sitting on our bed.

Its nice to know that there are more food selections at other resorts. I love pasta pizza and steak sandwiches (not all at once ) but I missed having something 'wholesome' that didnt cost more than $10

Actually a section of the food court is closed. The section that sells hot dishes (ribs, chicken, taco salads). This section is in the middle and has curtains covering it. It's unfortunate that you visited POR at its worse right now. It is my favorite moderate of the 3 and would always choose this resort over CBR and CS. Though I love this resort, I too have second thoughts about keeping my October reservations here because of the cut backs. I figured I would just book an All Star instead. Will wait and see.

I would have liked more variety. We would come home from the parks around 6pm some days, swim then head to the foodcourt.

I am not complaining though as I cant wait to stay at POR again once it has received its complete makeover.


My DH preferred ASMO to POR. He is more into rooms themed in bright colors. The kids and I loved the pool and wildlife at POR. DH thought the rooms were not too impressive. He said they were 'drab'. I say they were 'themed'. Everyone has different tastes dont they

Welcome back! Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy POR. To be honest, I don't like it much either--I don't know why exactly, it just doesn't do anything for me. And the maid was just chilling on your bed? How nice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about POR.

I don't have anything to compare to as I've always stayed at POR, but I personnally love the resort. I've have had two wonderful stays there and it is the only moderate where you can sleep five. I'm just concerned about facilites when I am there in late July. My kids have loved the food court in the past and I don't want them to be disappointed.

yeah the maid thing really got me angry the curtains werent opened like they were supposed to be and she was just watching tv. I mean i love disney but this resort was not that great at all. Also it was so noisy on two days when i was in the private pool they were cutting down trees and pulling stuff all around. It was only my gf and I and two older couples maybe in there 70's

I hope the tree cutting is done by the time I am there, I need my kids to nap in the afternoon.

I have to pipe in that I was at this resort from May 15 - 20th. While I was on the other side of teeh resort from z28wiz (I was in Parterre Place), I had a very positive experience. I went to the food court for breakfast almost every day, and it was only busy on one morning. We had a lite lunch there one day, and dinner there 3 times. I thought the taco salad, etc thing was only seasonal (I read the menus at www.wdwig.com) and only had a problem with the price of the milk! Yikes - buy the milk in the general store instead!

We had a great maid for our room, and it was quite for the most part. the negative was we had a connecting room, and the people on the otherside of the door had 2 small children that cried at 5:30 every morning. That drove me crazy! The one day i wanted to go to the "quiet pool," it was busy (I think that was either the 18 or 19th), so i didn't go. It was noisy outside our room on the 20th, but I think that was because we had had bad thunderstorms the night before, and the landscapers were out cleaning up.

All in all, I found this resort to be very charming. We rode the boat to DTD, and would have done the carrage ride, but the night I planned it, it rained (as previously mentioned). I would stay here again, and plan on writing a letter to the manager today.

The bus is not running all around the circuit? So everyone has to catch it at the front? ugh

I love Dixie. The theming, the quiet-even in July, the activities (fishing etc). Wish I were there now, but I am truly sorry that your's was not a pleasant experience. I'll be spending just one night at CSR in August, and I can hardly wait!

Wow! I can't imagine them only having one bus stop running, it must have been really empty!

I agree with doombuggy- buy milk in the general store! Its $1.00 for the larger size there, compared to something like $1.75 in the food court.
