We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Poly! (Can I move there? ;) ). The resort is beautifully themed, and althought we have stayed there before, I feel that I am truly somewhere special when I am there. We loved our lagoon/castle view. The service was excellent. The food in the concierge lounge was terrific and plentiful (as was the wine ;) ). Chef Dick is awesome! The cast members were great throughout the resort. It is fun to talk with the bell service guys ~ so many of them have been at the resort for a long time! As always, we love the pool! I think our little one went down the slide 1,000,000 times! No negatives over a 10 day stay. Any questions????

We ate at both. The Kona Cafe was terrific ~ we enjoyed dinner there. If you are looking for good food and a fun environment, it is great. It is not the place to go for a quiet meal. We loved it. The people dining around us were great, and we had many fun conversations!

For O'hana, we had breakfast there twice during our stay. Lots of yummy food to share, and you can't go wrong with Stitch!

Thank you for posting this great review. My family and I are staying in a Garden View Concierge room at the Polynesian in December for the very 1st time, so it's always nice to read some great reviews about it and how great the service is from the Cast Members.

Nice to hear you had such a great trip. I LOVE the Poly and last summer stayed on their concierge level for the first time. I thought it was fabulous! Those VIEWS! :cloud9: I can't wait to go back. There is something very special about the Poly :wizard:

Thanks for the review! We are staying LVC and cant wait. :woohoo:
Could you tell me when they stop serving the wine and other alcoholic beverages in the concierge lounge?:)

Pics please! :hyper:

We're planning our first LVC trip there for '08.

TIA.

Wine and beer are offered from 5 to 7PM. Cordials are offered from 8 - 10PM. I am not sure if you can get wine after 7PM, because we were not there at that time.

Last time I was there, we missed the evening offerings, I just asked for some wine, no problem! I asked again quite a few times!

How were the crowds? I leave in a few days and have never been in June before, I'm a little leary.

Yes, we got the chocolate postcard ~ YUM! The only problem with it was that my family saw it the same time I did. I don't think I would have shared if I discovered it alone!!!

Crowds were mixed over the 10 days. Early in the trip - we arrived 6/7, it was quiet, then it got busy, and then quiet. The MK was quiet on Saturday 6/16. There was always activity at the resort, but I did not think that it felt packed.

Thanks for the review we are leaving for the Poly Consierge in two days and I am so excited. This is our first visit to the Poly and having the concierge too! I'm still thinking that I am dreaming!!!!!

I've read on other sites that the pool area was really bad with overcrowding did you experience any of this?

Thanks Again!

Thanks for posting. My family and I are staying in a GVC room from July 28th to August 4th and we're really looking forward to it

I am so burnt out with work and the everyday hassles of life, this vacation is one that is well needed. 7 nights at the Poly is just what the doctor ordered.:cool2:

You can't go wrong with Kona cafe and I love it for breakfast and lunch. A late dinner is OK in a pinch, but they go to an Asian cuisine menu for the most part at night and while the food is good, it just isn't me.

This is my first time staying in the Hawaii building and getting concierge service. Since tikifest gave me such a good discount, I decided what the heck. Normally the Samoa building with a volcano pool view fits my needs just fine. I looking forward to just kicking back in the volcano pool in the early evening and hearing the Hawaiian music played under the water.

The volcano pool is beautiful beyond description, but truthfully, is too small for the number of guests the Poly has, IMO. Add in the pool hoppers that aren't supposed to be there in the first place and it gets crowded during the day. I find the volcano pool is perfect for use around 5:30 pm and later. I never have had a problem with overcrowding at those times. During the middle of the day around noon and later, the pool can be a mad house. Disney needs to crack down on the pool hoppers by politley enforcing existing rules and repeated ID checks every hour on the hour.

In reality, Disney needs to replace the quiet pool and update it to a newer style, zero entry pool that would fit in with the Hawaiian theme. No water slide needed, but a nice big hot tub next to the pool, would be so sweet.

We stayed LVC 5 times and have always enjoyed it.
The Polynesian is my favorite resort. :goodvibes

We went to the pool in the early afternoon (2ish), and it was a bit crowded. Not horrible in the water ~ hard to get a chair ~ tables were impossible. The kids had quite a line to go down the volcano slide. That said, we usually stay at the YC/BC, so we are used to Stormalong Bay and lots of space.

One thing that we ran into was the weather. Almost every afternoon, a thunderstorm would roll in, causing the pool to close for awhile. Some days it was a few hours or through the evening. We would have planned better and gone to the pool in the morning, had we considered the weather.

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you had a great time! :sunny: We'll be staying at the Polynesian LVC for the fourth time next month, and I can't wait to get back :cool2:

disneyfan67: We'll be there around the same time as you, hope to see you there :)

SeaSpray, I look forward to meeting you after reading your posts and enjoying you fantastic pictures these past couple of years. My wife and I love going to your family vacation website and checking out the Poly pictures. It helps with the dreaded Polynesian withdrawals that we suffer from.:lmao:

I'll see ya then!:thumbsup2
