Just back!!! POFQ....loved it!

Just got back last night from a 5 day stay at the POFQ. Stayed in building 1. We had our own car, so no need for Disney transportation. But we did eat at the food court one day (standard quick service food) and enjoyed the pool. I also walked from the POFQ to Riverside just to see it. It was a very nice walk along the river. We had 4 women sharing one room and found it comfortable, but a bit of a squeeze compared to say, the Poly-type rooms. But the curtain that separates the bathroom area from the rest of the room really did come in handy when people were tkaing turns showering or washing up. THe only complaint I really had was that the mousekeepers had a tendency to bolt open the doors when they were cleaning the rooms, meaning everytime the went in and out they slammed hard against the bolt. When we tried to sleep in (to 9 am!) we kept getting woken by the sound of slamming doors. Also, a bottle broke on one of the staircases and it took them over 2 hours to clean up the broken glass. But the resort itself was very quiet and charming. Not sure I'd go back, but enjoyed it while I was there!

I'm comparing my stay at POFQ to other moderate resorts that I have stayed in, like CSR and CBR along with some of the deluxe resorts.

Here is a link to view some photos of POFQ from our recent trip this month. Sorry that the room is slightly a mess, we were packing up getting ready to leave on our last day so I snapped some inside photos real quick. Let me know if you have any questions.

Port Orleans French Quarter

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that all the moderates would have the same quality mattress and pillows. I have stayed at all of the moderates and the only difference to me is the theme (and size of grounds). I haven't stayed at PO-FQ since the renovations but I just switched my PO-R to PO-FQ last night. I decided that I would rather stay there since it has just recenly re-opened. I also want to comment on the food courts...you said that PO-FQ food court was expensive. I found that the food court in CSR was more money since they tack on the 15% gratuity just to seat you & bring you over your drinks (soda, milk etc...).

If I remember right the pricing at CSR food court wasn't as steep but that was 4-5 years ago. Pricing was comparable, but CSR's food and food choices were far better than the choices at POFQ and the quality of food was way better....IMO
