'Ohana!!!:cloud9: After reading so many mixed reviews on 'Ohana--and especially after hearing Kevin Close's review on it--I nearly cancelled our ADR about 10 times. The other restaurants we went to were Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Coral Reef and Chef Mickey's.

I can't recall the name of our 'Ohana waiter--Summi? Anyway, he was a fabulous waiter. We were never rushed, the food was cooked well and delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing. We had a window table, which may have helped the relaxing part of it. The night we were there, they had a man who would stroll around the restaurant, talking about Hawaii and singing songs on his ukele. There was some dancing and coconut races, but it wasn't near us and not anything DS11 wanted to participate in. However, DS11 had SIX servings of steak!!!

In an almost tie would have been Coral Reef--which also gets mixed reviews. When DH and I finished eating there, we both commented that you could tell the food was prepared by a chef, rather than a cook.

I'll post the individual reviews later, but wanted to give a big thumbs up for both 'Ohana and Coral Reef is anyone has been concerned as I'd been.

I have to agree! O'Hana's was the best meal we had last week! My husband has listed it as a must do from now on!!!!

We ate at Ohana last Friday, and it was probably our least favorite this time. We ate there last trip and loved it, so we were disappointed that it wasn't as good this time around. The food was fine, and the service was cordial, but we felt so rushed this time around. They kept piling on the food, without giving us a break. We actually turned the meats down twice before we were finally ready. The bread pudding just wasn't as fabulous as I remember it to be, either. It was so weird...I was looking forward to it so much, but when I tasted it, it was just OK. I wonder if they've changed the recipe or something??

I don't think we'll be going here again next trip. Moving on to another restaurant!

It's funny how one person loves a restaurant and another doesn't. PH received bad reviews but we loved it. H&V also and we thought it was great! I say tryit You may like it!!

We ate at 'Ohana a couple of weeks ago for the third time. It was still good and everything was fine from the service to the food. The pace was not bad either. But it was like we are getting too used to it so it is kind of "same old same old".

We ate at Boma for the second time and it was much better than the first.

When we were there in Dec we skipped Biergarten which is one of my favorites because it was getting "same old same old" too. When we went again this time it was great!

I think for us we have high expectations for a dining experience just from anticipation. It would be better for us to vary our restaurants more during our trips.
