After a long drive home, we returned from our long weekend visit (Nov 7-11). I'll post a longer trip report later, but just wanted to say that we had a great time!
We met Nancy (YellowMickeyPonchos) and her family! It was great meeting you.
The crowds weren't bad. Saturday was the lightest (holiday taping maybe?), Sunday was the most crowded (Bat's Day, but we started out in DCA which was lighter), and Monday was moderate.
Combining Hydroguy's tips (thanks!), all the tips here (thanks!), and my own park strategies, I'd have to say that even with moderate to heavy crowds, I worked the fastpass system and other strategies so we didn't have to stand in very long lines. I can think of only 2 lines where we waited over 20 minutes: Roger Rabbit (35 minutes) and Haunted Mansion (50 minutes). But both were last minute spur-of-the-moment decisions.
Our room at the DLH was in the Wonder Tower facing... the parking lot! Oh well, for the price we paid and for the amount of time we actually spent in the room, it was just fine. It was clean, comfortable, and housekeeping/turn down service was great.
Only a few dissapointments. One was the food. We ate mostly at counter service and it was okay. Another was a fairly decent family meltdown having to do with ice cream and the Matterhorn (and me becoming one of those parents who yells at their kids at Disneyland). I'm not proud and I apologized and it was resolved with everybody happy.
I'll get into more with a longer trip report and pics (Yes, there are Jonas Brothers and Jose Feliciano pics too) later.
I figured with all the fast pass collecting and other walking, I logged in over 10 miles per day. Allowed me to eat more pumpkin muffins and giant cookies.
