Just back...new extra magic hours is a joke!

Well this thread was "interesting". We're going in June and expecting to take advantage of late EMH's mostly because none of us (myself and kids only on this trip) are morning people. I don't expect an empty park during those hours but I also don't expect them to be giving wristbands to those that haven't shown they are actually staying onsite nor letting others ride without wristbands. That defeats the whole point and purpose of this "perk" for staying onsite. :(

I just forwarded this thread to WDW....hopefully, someone will read it.

Read it??--maybe. Act on it?? Unlikely.
Sounds like one big old fashioned MESS!!!
But I have to say that even when there were e-ticket nites (which I liked a lot!!) there were always "lurkers" w/o wrist bands who continued to remain in the park AND get on rides.

That is why my family chooses to avoid parks that have extra magic hours, whether it be in the morning or the evening. We have found that the specific days the parks has extra magic hours, it also has extra people. So now we avoid which ever park has EMH and go to a alternate park. This has worked well for us.

We were there end of January and Magic Kindgom was always packed. I think that is just the way it is, with all the marketing, everyone wants to go to Disney and that is the most popular park. I couldn't wait to get out of there, both days we went. We loved EMH in MGM and AK, the parks were deserted. We had a blast, the best time I've ever had at the parks. They definitely checked our bands a lot. We had to go to guest services because my oldest son forgot his room key and they called the resort. They must be more vigilant when the parks aren't crowded.

I have ALWAYS had to show my resort ID to get into an early morning park. When I stayed onsite and had LOS passes, your key is your ticket so it's easy to see that you are a resort guest. My last stay was onsite with a PAP ( :teeth: ) and in order to enter an early entry park I had to show my resort ID card with my PAP.

We were never asked for resort ID when we went to the morning hours. We had APs and no one asked if we had resort IDs or not. There was at least one family on the monorail with us that were offsite. I watched them walk right on it without being asked for ID. The park was packed. I gave up on early magic hours.

I know my family is going to really miss E-Night. We just loved it. We are going to give the evening EMH at MK a try on our last night at DW in June. Hope we have been able to ride on most of the attractions that we want prior to the three EMH hours. If it is as bad as some of you have said, and I pretty much think that June 15th is gonna be worse then most of you have experienced, then we will probably being leaving early to enjoy the pool back at the resort.
