Just back! Nemo! Pirate's Liar! Whew!

We've just returned from DL and did get to see Nemo and loved it!!!! Our sons also think Pirate's Liar is terrific. I'm available for questions ....

We went on Nemo today and I thought it was okay....not great. The lines, though, are going to be crazy! We were not that far back in line (maybe 25 - 30 people in front of us) and it took us 40 minutes to ride the ride! I can't imagine how it will be with long lines. I sure hope they have a fast pass but even with that, who knows.

I don't think I will ever ride it again. It was fun seeing it, though, and I'm glad we got the chance to see it before the crowds got too crazy.

We love Pirate's Lair, though!

OP might be an annual passport holder...they had some sort of drawing or sweepstakes for AP holders, to preview it. Lucky people.

Sorry for taking so long to reply - trying to catch up from being gone and haven't had a chance to sit down at the computer.

Let me start with Pirate's Liar, which was originally Tom Sawyer's Island. My sons loved it, especially our 10 year old. We were surveyed about our thoughts, and he talked the cast member's ears off about how great it is. The premise is that pirates have taken over the island, and treasure is hidden on it as well as many references to the Pirates movie. The majority of the island is more walk through and look rather than play spaces like my kids do at Tom Sawyer's island at WDW. Part of this may be that the fort is closed and set to be demolished (I think I heard something about termites). The best part, to me, was the cave which has some interactive scenes from the movie that are quite impressive - Davy Jones beating heart in the treasure chest, ghosts that appear, etc. Many pirates are walking around, and Jack Sparrow is often around the pile of treasure. They also have several shows running throughout the day that are entertaining, but they do close off the path of traffic around the island. Maps are provided for guests that include a hidden path that can only be seen if the map is in the sun, but the X spots didn't have anything. My kids had brought along their Nintendo DS games for downloads, but none was found on the island. They did, however, get them over at the Pirates' ride. I noticed www.mouseplanet.com had many pictures from the island if you want to take a look.

And Nemo - we truly lucked out! During our visit, it was a cast member preview, often with long lines. When we first saw it was open, we did go up and ask if it was a soft opening or only cast members and were told just for cast members. While we were walking away, a cast member came up and asked if we would like to ride - without hesitatation, we said YES! It wasn't busy at the time, so we were brought right to a sub. It was our magic moment of the trip. I loved the ride - it has a sweetness about as it goes through the story of Nemo in a round-about way. The premise is the sub has the ability to now hear fish sounds, which let's us hear the "fish" as they were in the movie. What I found neat was that there are animated scenes of the characters in the movie - sort of watching a film under water, and they are unique for the show. The ride has a few "events" like an underwater volcano and the bombs/mines. Overall, it is a colorful, pleasant, relaxing ride that allows guests to revisit the characters from the film. The humans from the film are audio-animatronics while the majority of the rest are in film form.

I would anticipate long lines for this ride by the looks of things.

I'll check back again if there are more questions, but it maybe another day because my oldest son is having his appendix removed tomorrow - poor guy!

Oh, I am so jealous.

I was there on Sunday and Monday and double checked that the lines were only for CM previews. Sadly, no CM offered to take us on.

DD and I just got back from our AP preview day for Nemo. It was great! We had no wait at all. Our tickets were for 4pm but after talking to a CM about the lines on the CM preview days we headed over at about 3:30. We walked right onto a sub. The human characters from the film were great. My dd was a little intimidated by the whole Submarine part of it but she gave it a try and loved it. She wants to go again - I told her we would have to wait until the lines die down - we sure were spoiled. I also liked the length of the ride. I think that it was a little over 10 minutes (mayber longer).

We also went to Pirtates Lair for the first time since it opened. I was surprised by the lack of a "crowd." It did not seem busy despite the rafts full of people coming on to the island. The map is a wonderful keepsake. Here is a picture of my dd with Capt. Jack at the treasure pile.

He was great as were all the other pirates we encountered on the island. One pirate tried to talk her into looting some treasure with him. They really played up the fact that she was in her pirate outfit. SHe loved it!
