Just got back from 3 nights at POFQ and 4 nights at AKL. We had a great trip! My mom, DD and I went for a girls trip!
POFQ - we were in building 3 room 3302 - 3rd floor. Room was all the way at the end of the building by the parking lot. Not too bad of a walk to pool, food court and bus stops. Room was very nice. We enjoyed the food court a lot. Lots of choices and huge portions! We split meals because the portions were so big. Buses were okay had to wait a long time a couple of times. We have always used the buses (this was the 6th trip in 5 years) and found the buses to be the worst this trip (at AKL too). There were a lot of dead leaves on the ground which kind of surprised me because Disney is usually so good on keeping up the grounds. I liked the resort because it was small but like Riverside mansion section better for prettiness!
AKL - We loved it here!! We were in room 4516 Zebra - 4th floor. Room was in a good location. Not far from the elevator and food court, pool and restaurants. Bus stop was a little bit of a walk. We loved the savannah view - well worth the $$$. We ate at Boma's - not our cup of tea - although I did try a lot of the selections - soups were great!! Mara's was okay - not as good as POFQ food court. I have two complaints about the resort - #1 and biggest - You could hear the highway while sitting on our balcony!! We were sitting there looking at the giraffes and other animals with the sound of the highway which was pretty loud!!! It kind of took away from the experience of the savannah! We saw the most animals at around 4pm every day. #2 - There were stains on the sheets and towels. My mom is a manager of housekeeping at a holiday inn and said that they shouldn't have made it out of laundry. Not a big deal - but not something I expected to see. The sheets and towels were definately washed - maybe they need a stronger stain remover!!!! Buses were okay - had to wait awhile a few times. Bus ride to MK is pretty long!
I would stay at both places again!
