We were there from 1/2-1/9. We had a great time!
Crowds: The crowds were much more prevalent than what I expected. I thought everyone would be back at school and work by now! Not the case. I went to MK on Monday and the crowds were absolutely horrible. You couldn't even get around and I gave up by 3 o'clock and went back to the resort. However, I will say that because it was so cold, when we went back in the evening the crowds had thinned out a LOT. Most everything was walk-on (well, besides the big rides like Space Mountain). Monday was really the worst day crowd-wise but the other days were by no means dead (Touring Plans predicted most days I was there to be a 4). Even with the big crowds, we were able to do everything we wanted using the fast pass system (and most things more than once).
CMs: I was very disappointed with the overall attitude of the CMs, especially the photopass photographers. They just weren't as friendly as usual. The photopass photographers gave us a lot of grief on taking pictures with our individual cameras along with theirs. My two sisters came with us and I felt like they missed out on a little bit of the magic due to the CMs.
Weather: It was freezing! Now, keep in mind that I'm from Alabama and not used to the cold but seriously, guys I think everyone was cold! I was bundled up from head to toe (although I didn't bring my gloves and hat because I didn't think I'd need them when I left Montgomery!) I usually wore a tank top, a long sleeved shirt, a hoodie, and a heavy coat each day to keep me warm. The worst days were Saturday and Sunday because the sun wasn't out; although today when we were leaving seemed almost unbearable due to the sleet/rain mixture. The weather didn't stop us though! We usually made it for rope drop, took a break for dinner, and stayed out until closing.
Resort: We stayed at Bonnet Creek and it was really a lovely resort. I was very excited to have a kitchen and two bedrooms for a little over the cost of a value resort at Disney. I was able to watch the fireworks from Epcot (and I think Magic Kingdom) from my balcony each night. I did have a few problems with my particular condo though. There were little things that all added up to be an annoyance. The wheel on the dishwasher was broken, the latch lock on the front door was broken, the master bedroom door wouldn't stay open, one of the burners on the stove didn't heat up, and the fitted sheet on the bed was way too small and kept coming off. Again, these were just minor annoyances that in combination amounted to something worth noting. I don't know that they'd keep me from staying there again. You definitely cannot beat the location.
Overall:
We had a great time! We bought APs and cannot wait to go back. Next time we will try to pick a little bit more warmer time of year! haha. But hey, it was definitely better than being home. It was in the teens in Alabama!
I will answer any questions!
