I have been going to WDW for years. We went before FP, enjoyed FP for years, and were NOT happy about having to completely change our touring plans to learn how to tour with the new FP+.

So when I found out my DS was marching with his band at MK for spring break, I was anxious for us to go and try out FP+ over a shorter long weekend vacation rather than an "official" summer trip.

1. I was amazed at the number of people who were waiting at every single FP+ cue I saw. They were lined up all the way out of the cue at every one. I had read online that people should venture back into the park to try a cue that wasn't so packed, but everyone I saw was packed at all times of day. I was SO GLAD that I had set ours up ahead of time online. I would hate to waste all that time in the parks waiting. And remember, this was before the March 31 date where Disney is opening up FP+ even more.

2. It was nice not having to send a runner to an attraction to get tickets. I gotta say, that was nice - especially for my DH who is usually the runner. :)

3. FP+ worked. I was afraid it wouldn't work for some reason and I had printed out and carried the paper confirmations with us, but we never needed them.

4. People still try to get in early just like they did with the old FP system and they clog up the entrance to FP+ line when the CM tells them they have to step aside and wait. STOP IT PEOPLE!

5. The 3 attractions per day were great that we had on FP+ but they weren't enough!!! We waited in lines that we have never ever waited in before. I have never waited in the Pirates of Carribean line. I waited in it for 35 minutes. It was all the way out the door and took up the entire porch area.

We waited in the Pooh line for 30 minutes and finally gave up and left.

6. I had to plan plan plan to hit the attractions we did and we were there every morning at park opening and still didn't get to ride everything we wanted. In the past, I also planned but was able to ride much more with the old FP system. Basically, I had to choose what we would skip on this trip because I knew we wouldn't be able to get to them without extremely long waits. For example, we didn't even attempt the Jungle Cruise, or Maelstrom, or Star Tours. And we waited in the longest line I have ever seen for Muppets! I didn't even know the cue could go back outside the building as far as it did! WOW!

7. I would have been extremely disappointed if this was my one and only once in a lifetime trip. We are lucky in that we get to go usually once a year, but I feel bad for others who won't get this chance.

8. Getting into the parks with magic bands is GREAT. (As well as into our hotel room!)

9. So I guess here's my two big suggestions: a. give us more FP+ options a day. Maybe 5 instead of 3? b. Let us use them at more than once park per day.

These are just my opinions based on my experiences. Please don't bash. :) If you have questions, I will be happy to try and answer.

Thanks,
Angie

thanks for a open discussion of your experience. Hopefully they will continue to work out the bugs and expand the number of fp they give you

Thanks. This kind of sums up my feelings on FP+. Yes, there are some nice things about the system and I have yet to have a problem. But I think it has caused a lot of problems and takes away from the experience I was used to. I am not confident that these issues will be resolved to my liking but I am trying to work it to the best of my ability.

You just said what I was trying to say in my long post. ;)

WE received a survey about FP+ and some of the changes that may or may not come down the road later are, more then 3 FP+ but you might have to add it the day you are in the park, one way is after you use at least one of your originals, another way is one more available after 1pm. Also a possible chance of FP+ in another park later in the day. Keep in mind this was things they said MIGHT be possible down the road, so they may or may not happen.

This is my feeling as well after using FP+ and MDE for 5 days last month. Some days 3 FP+ was just fine, other days I would have liked another couple. I think it should be in the form of same-day FP's that you can use after you start using your reserved three. I suspected early on that they'd do this eventually, and still hope that they do. Thus, my fingers crossed... ;)

We loved everything else about MDE (MB's to enter room, parks, charge, etc.), and it all worked without a hitch. I never wear bracelets and hate even wearing a watch, so worried about hating wearing the MB. I found it to be very comfortable and it didn't bother me in the least.
