We were in WDW from 12/4-12/9 and we had some really good meals. We did not have the dining plan but we did use the DDE
.. We stayed at the Poly so alot of our meals were eaten there.
On 12/4 we had lunch at Kona, very good, I had the Beef Teriyaki salad in a wonton bowl and my husband had the Big Kahuna Burger, total after the 20% discount $18.22
Dinner was at Ohana, we loved this meal, I do miss having everything on the lazy susan, but the new menu was really great. We loved the shrimp, we both ordered seconds, the wings were good, we ate a few of the wontons but were not impressed and did not want to fill up on them, I had some of the salad, which was good as well....they did not bring out any potatoes, I had actually forgotten about them, but we most likely would not have eaten them as they would have been too filling. We each tried all of the meats, which were very moist and tasty, we were not thrilled with the sausage, but the beef, turkey and pork were delicious. Then the dessert, I loved the pineapple and I was prepared to be disappointed with the bread pudding, but I was pleasantly surprised, it was wonderful, and just enough to finish off the meal. Our total with the discount $44.29
.
12/5 breakfast was just muffins, milk and coffee at Captain Cooks, $6.26 lunch was at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot, I had the turkey wrap and my husband had a double cheese burger with fries, I had a small water and my husband had a large coke, 18.48. Dinner was at Hollywood and Vine, we had the fantasmic package, and were told we could not use the DDE discount, we both enjoyed the food, there was a good selection, everything was hot and tasty. We each had some salad, chicken, fish, my husband had some of the sliced beef, and we each had the creamed corn pudding which was very good. We sampled the desserts and left there very stuffed, total $51.10.
12/6, breakfast a Captain Cooks again, doughnuts, muffins, fruit cups milk and coffee, total $11.66, we came back to the resort for lunch, at Captain Cooks. I had a chicken salad wrap and my husband had a cheeseburger, total $13.30. Dinner was at Whispering Canyon at the WL, my husband had the meatloaf, we he really liked (he is very picky about his meatloaf) and I had the roasted chicken, it was delicious and very moist, I had a soda and my husband had coffee, total with the DDE discount $32.43.
12/7 we decided to eat breakfast at Kona, my husband had the big Kahuan breakfast which included eggs, french toast, pancakes, potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage. I had half a grapefruit and toast, and ended up eating one of his pancakes and a slice of bacon, I had coffee, my husband just had water, total with the DDE discount, $14.46, for lunch we just had kids meals at the Flame tree barbecue, the meal included a hot dog, a piece of corn on the cob, apple sauce and a drink, total for the 2 of us $8.50, we just had this light lunch since we had a large breakfast and we knew we were eating at the Cape May Cafe for dinner at 5:30. Dinner at the Cape May Cafe was excellent, I had a salad, and then set my sights on the clams, my husband tried some chicken and some vegetables and then headed for the clams and muscles, we each had to have eaten hundreds of clams, they were small and some were cooked in broth and others in butter and garlic...I think my husband went up 5 times for the clams, for dessert we tried the cookies, the cheese cake, flan and some apple crisp. This was the best meal, with the DDE discount the total for the 2 of us $44.29.
12/8
it was rainy this morning so we opted for Kona for breakfast, my husband had the ham and cheese omelette and I had the eggs benedict, we each had coffee, total with the discount $19.91, we did not eat breakfast until around 11:00 so we skipped lunch, I had a caramel apple from the MK and my husband had popcorn, I love the caramel apples in the MK, I brought 2 home with me...any way, dinner was at the Hoopdedo Revue, we had a great meal, the chicken and ribs were very good and the corn on the cob was quite fresh, and of course the strawberry short cake was the best! Since we booked the 7:15 show it is not eligible for the DDE discount, only the later show is, but we did not want to eat that late, total for the 2 of us $100.44.
12/9 our last day, we had breakfast at Boma, what a great selection, I tried the Pap, which was good, we each had scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and pasteries, we each had coffee, we thought this was a great way to spend our last morning at WDW, the cost with the discount $28.95. we skipped lunch as breakfast was at 10:00 and then ate at the airport for dinner, we ate at the Macaroni Grille (not sure of the spelling) this was very good my husband had lasagne and I had chicken parm, the total was cheap compared to our dinners at WDW, for the 2 meals and sodas our total was about $26.00
..........
We really had good food, and we had good service as well, this was my husband's first trip to WDW and he had read in the Unoffical guide that the food would not be good, so he was apprehensive when we got there, but was very happy with all of our meals

Great reviews. So OHana does still have the pinneapple for desert? Or is it just the pudding??

No more pineapple, just the bread pudding, but it was very good, it had ice cream with caramel syrup on it.

Thanks for sharing. I'm kind of nervous about our dinner at Ohana's this trip, hopefully it won't disappoint. Good to hear you liked most of the offerings.

We have a group of 10 fun folks.....None of us have dined at Ohana. I really want to make that one of our meals. Should We??? Is it FUN ??? It sounds Delicious! Any Feedback and/or suggestions......THANKS SO MUCH !! :teeth: :lovestruc

We saw quite a few tables with large groups, I think you will have alot of fun, the food was very good and if there are children in your group they have games for them as well.
