Hi all! We just returned from 10-nights at Disney World. I have a 6 year old who is ana to pn/tn and a 3 year old who is ana to wheat, dairy, and egg. This was our first trip to Disney after having been diagnosed with these allergies and I was super nervous, but I shouldn't have been - it was AMAZING. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

My younger son (15 now!) is ana to pn/tn and has been since he was 2 - and we've been traveling to WDW with him from the start and we go often. One thing we still find challenging is DESSERT - whether at a QS or TS place or wherever. He can eat "made in a facility" but not "may contains" - and recently the very best place to get dessert has been Chef Mickey's - he has been told multiple times by different chefs that almost all of the buffet desserts are fine for him. TS places can usually provide a dessert he likes but QS places are usually a big thumbs down - and any of the bakery places - baked goods (cakes, pies, cookies, etc) are usually off limits. I think QS is even worse than it used to be with desserts.

Just curious where you had the best luck with desserts for your pn/tn child - whether TS, QS or any place that sells it.

Yes, Selket - I hear you on this! Our situation is a bit weird with the pn/tn kiddo. My husband is also allergic to pn/tn, so we had always avoided nuts with her, testing small amounts of peanut butter each year and doing scratch tests - always came out negative. Then, this past spring I gave her a bit of peanut butter and she reacted and then reacted on the skin test as well. So, we don't know when the allergy started and therefore it has been very tricky figuring out what to feed her with respect to 'may contain' and 'made in facility' items. All that to say, we were pretty careful with desserts for her! Her favourite was the grey stuff at Be our Guest. Apparently all of the desserts there are safe for pn/tn as long as they don't put the garnish on them (the little sprinkles and things) - so she just chose which she liked and they grabbed her a plain one from the back. She also had Mickey bars, though I know some people have had issues with those and cross contamination. We had a slushy from the Big Top area at MK, fruit bars and frozen lemonade from carts in Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. In restaurants she mostly had Tofutti ice cream and fruit. We didn't go for any bakery items just to be safe. I booked a super late dinner at BOG just for dessert and I would do that again next time on multiple nights. It's super quick, feels like a true dessert, and it's in a cool location. I would also buy extra to have with me at other meals! Oh soft serve was an option at Trail's End as well and she enjoyed that. I'll let you know if I think of any others :)
