Just Back - Kidani

Our DD is fascinated the Okapis. We are planning to take a trip over to Kidani during our trip in May to see the baby Okapi. I was wondering you saw the baby and if so, where and when is the best time. My DD is 3-1/2, so is not at the age to reason with very well. I would like to avoid a meltdown if possible. :)

PS - Greetings from Ohio

We did not see the baby Okapi but I did see a board listing the event, I think it was out the lobby by the fire pit.

The Ohio weather wasn't too bad to come back to, at least today.

About how long of a walk is it from Kidani to Jamba house? We are considering staying at one of these in early October. We've stayed at AKL (before DVC) and really like the pool at Jamba House - but is the one at Kidani considered to be better?

Sorry for the questions - we had planned our trip to VWL - but DD19 thinks she can join us and is asking for AKL or Kidani.

I have stayed at both Jambo and Kidani. I think both are great. Both have zero entry area, which is great for little ones. I'm sure the Jambo pool is larger, but the Kidani pool did not seem crowded at all. I really liked the pool area at Kidani, it offered lots of seating both for sun and shade.

As for the walk, I think it was 10 minutes, not bad at all. We walked over at least 4 times, so it must not have been that bad. ;)

Like others have stated the walk is about 10 min or so. IF you start your walk and a park bus is waiting to leave you can hop on that since all park buses visit kidani first then go to jambo so you can take a bus over to jambo.

IF my wife and I are walking we will go down the hallway to the last elevator then go to jambo so we can avoid the heat as much as possible.
