I will try to answer any questions. Just a few tips and info about our trip.

We arrived at the park each day at 8:30 and were able to ride anything we wanted for at least the first 2 to 3 hours. Shrek did not have express pass, but on site hotel guests were able to go in ahead of everyone. If you get there early though, you will not wait longer than 20 minutes to see Shrek. By early I mean between 8:30 and 9:00.

It is extremely hot and the waits after 12:00 are anywhere from 1 to 2 hours long.

Hope you had fun!! Did you stay on site? If so, where?? And was FOTL changed for your trip?

We did not stay onsite, but were able to ride everything we wanted between 8:30 and 10:30. After that we got express passes until about 12:00 at which time we took a break from the parks each day. At night the express passes were all gone and the waits were up to an hour or two. We only returned to the parks on one night. We had the buy 2 get 5 day tickets so we were able to do both parks comfortably in those 5 days.

Thanks for the report. We will be going the first week of August and won't be on site either. Your tips are a great help. I will be sure to take your advice and get us to the parks early.

We went to the HRH on July3-5 after a 7 day cruise and was suprised how it was not as busy as I thought on July4 at Universal. We went in May on a Saturday a few years ago and it was worse. They said the locals stay away from there on the fourth. Like he said we got there about 8:30 and did not need the pass. We started to use it after 10am for a few rides since I had 2 kids saving even 5 minutes was great. Since we only had one day we decided to do the 1 day 2 parks and it worked great saw at least 3/4 of each park for rides. We are going to do the whole Disney and Universal for longer next year so this was great. The longest I waited with the hotel express pass was 15 min. for the Mummy all other waits 5-8 minutes. It was a great trip and my son did not want to leave the hard rock. We decided next year to stay at the Swan/Dolphin like we did in the past and to swicth at the end to the HRH for the express pass. Well worth it and a great hotel.
