We just spent 4 wonderful days at WDW. For anyone interested, our favorite restaurants/foods this trip:
Liberty Tree Tavern (Magic Kingdom) - We hadn't been there in years, but decided to try it for lunch based on some DIS Board comments. We're so glad we did! Great atmosphere (especially in the carpeted dining area); fabulous food, and wonderful service. We had the Pilgrims' Feast and the Colony Salad.
Yak & Yeti (Animal Kingdom) - Always a favorite, but this year's lunch was better than ever. Pot stickers; Lettuce Wraps; Bourbon Chicken; Beef & Broccoli; and the Wok-fried Green Beans (new?) - SOOO good!
La Hacienda de San Angel (Mexico) - Puerco en Salsa de Mole Negro and Pollo Al Pastor were favorites; Del Mar was good but shrimp was super spicy. You can't beat this location for watching Illuminations.
Dole Whip - Love this treat as a cone, a float, or just as a dish of ice cream. It was so refreshing on a very hot day.
Our least favorites:
Picabu Buffeteria (in the Dolphin Hotel) - greasy nachos; mediocore burgers; chicken tenders. We needed an inexpensive place for an unexpected gathering (with 2 exhausted kids and their dad). Not a good choice.
Le Cellier (Canada) - Salmon was delicious; Braised Short Rib was great. However, the very pricey New York Strip Steaks were overcooked and served with a teeny, tiny portion of 'vin rouge reduction' (more like a garnish than an accompaniment). servings of potato pave were very small. Disappointing -this is usually one of our favorite restaurants.
