Just back, Highs & Lows

Got back from our 3 night trip this evening. Thought I would continue with the traditional Highs & Lows:

Highs:

Dreams, saw this twice would have gone for the 3rd evening but too tired. Its amazing. I was spoiled by seeing it online but its not a patch on it live.

CM's all friendly & polite, having said that I have never had a problem with them in all my visits.

All the toilets I came across were clean, a vast improvement then previous visits.

SL hotel, had a lodge so got a refurbished room, the only bit I don't like is the hard matress like they have in the DLH

No queue jumping

VIP fastpass, it was great being able to just keep walking onto BTM

Not as busy as I thought it was going to be.

Merchandise, for the 1st time in a long time there was lots of stuff I liked

Lows:

The main one was that my mum couldn't come at the last minute due to their dog having 2 fits at the kennel, it was a shame as it was meant to be a family trip. The dog hasn't fitted since but not been his normal self.

Some rude guests to staff

The new parade doesn't do anything for me (I love the music) it has to be the worse one I have seen.

Really enjoyed the trip but I think I am done with taking my niece & nephew. Mainly my nephew as he doesn't appreciate how lucky he is to go. Also my sister & her family just didn't get the most out of the trip, I feel sorry for my dad as he treated us all but the kids spent most of the time swimming or in the room.

I really can't wait till I go again in November with my friend & cousin, along with 50 other people from my work.

Overall a fab trip, my dad & I enjoyed ourselves.

glad it wasnt as busy as thought - think we have all started imagining it to be heaving!!!

and was there lots of 20th stuff about (sum1 else reported no 20th mickeys...) so what did u end up buying????? retro?? signature or the classic??

I think I know what you mean about family not 'getting' it. Best to go with those that are like minded.

There is loads of 20th Anniversary stuff just no Mickey's atm. I got a coat, a blue 20th anniversary top. I'm going to get the grey signature one when I go in November, a mug & a couple of pins. Loads more I want to get just pacing myself

Such a shame about your mum but good news that the dog's been all right since.

At least you and your dad really enjoyed it and it won't be long before your next trip is here.

Totally agree about only going with "like-minded folk"!! If they don't get it - they don't get to go! (I'll be your new neice if you like...?!!)

Thanks everyone I had my parents & aunt & uncle round for dinner yesterday, my dad finally admitted that he is upset & annoyed with my sister & her family, my BIL never thanks anyone for anything including the trip. I knew my dad was upset but as he said never again with them & he himself did enjoy it which is the main thing

I did tell my sister & BIL that they have no stamina, we weren't even doing the parks commado style as the park was open late we had a relaxing time & had drinks in the bar in the afternoon which my BIL was invited to but he was sleeping

Oh well, I would love to take my niece again as she enjoys it but she won't go without he mum so its not likely to happen. My parents & I will continue to go & enjoy ourselves. I have to laugh my sister is talking about saving to go to WDW with the kids when they are older, she struggles to save & it would be wasted on my BIL

It's a shame some of your family didn't make the most of your trip but it sounds like you and your dad had a great time anyway.
