Help me pass the time away until next year. I can't believe my long-awaited Disney vacation is over. We got in late last night and I am already suffering from Disney homesickness My husband thinks I'm crazy because I am moping around today. I want to start planning next year's vacation, but I think it's too early for that. To pass the time, can I answer anybody's questions??

My family of 5 (ages 10,9 and just turned 4 year old) went for 10 days. We stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East, Vistana Resort (Cascades - have stayed in Palms previously) and the Polynesian. We visited the MK twice, Epcot, MGM, Downtown Disney, and Typhoon Lagoon. Ate at 1) Sci-Fi Diner (kids had pasta & chicken and I had burger & fries - we all loved our food, but DH had dry chicken sandwich - would go again), 2) Planet Hollywood - never again! Not one of us had a good meal, kids included, 3) Ohanas - our favorite!! Some of the meat was undercooked though and had to be sent back, but we loved this meal, 4) Pecos Bill - good burgers 5) Wolfgang Puck Express - good sandwiches 6) Chef Mickey for breakfast - loved selection of different egg dishes - kids certainly didn't eat $10 of breakfast food though!! 7) Kona Cafe for dessert - AWESOME! Koko Puffs were absolutely delicious and kids loved there kiddie cones 8) And of course, Ghiradelli's - they have a new black cherry sundae - fabulous!! The rest was offsite or just sandwiches poolside.

I'd love to answer any of your questions or be of some help in any way.

Thanks for your report. I know how you feel about leaving WDW. Last year we went to Universal in Sept. In October I find this board and have been plotting and planning ever since. Dh totally does NOT understand! He just doesn't get the Disney magic. We're leaving in less than 2 weeks and I've tried to plan according to his interest. We'll see how it goes this year.

Thanks for your report on Sci Fi. This is on our list to definately do, because ds and dh are big Sci Fi fans. I'm glad to hear another positive report - a year ago they all seemed to be negative.:smooth:

Can you go to Kona just for desert? What time is best? We have our first ever ps there this year for breakfast, but it might be a nice way to end a day too.

Hi Jane,

We thoroughly enjoyed Sci Fi - the atmosphere can't be beat and it is a great haven from the heat and crowds. Just stick with the burger and fries and shake and you can't go wrong. The burger is huge by the way - I got one with Swiss & mushrooms - delicious. I cut it in half as soon as I received it, and I found I couldn't even finish my half!! The kids meals are expensive because they include a frisbee with each meal. We told our server we only wanted 1 frisbee so she took $2.50 off each of the other 2 kids meals.

I think a lot of people go to the Kona Cafe for just dessert. Their desserts are wonderful, and if you eat a meal first, you risk the chance of being too full to enjoy dessert there. I ordered the Koko Puffs after seeing a picture of them posted on the boards here, and I couldn't even finish them even though I had skipped supper that night! My husband ordered the Kileau Torte which looked great - I wish I had tried it, because my husband doesn't enjoy food the way I do, so now when I ask him about it, he just says "it was okay". Our ps was for 7:00 which was a good time for us. It gave us a few hours before bedtime to work off some of the calories. I couldn't imagine eating a rich dessert like that at say 9:00 or 10:00 at night unless you are a night owl! I guess I would eat dessert that late if I were heading to the MK for an e-night - wouldn't have to feel so guilty because I could walk it off.

Hope this helps you! I'm so jealous knowing you're leaving in less than 2 weeks! I need to figure out a good month to go next year so I can start counting days again!
