Got back last night after a great 7 night 8 day trip. Just me and my DS who is 8 so I skipped a lot of the more "fancy" restaurants. He prefers hamburgers and french fries most of the time. Here is a brief review of some of the places where we ate:

O'hanas - big disappointment. The appetizers weren't bad but the meat was chewy and overcooked. We had a table by the window which was nice but the only thing I found good was the shrimp. For the price not worth it in my opinion

1900 Park Fare Dinner Buffet - Excellent dinner and good character interaction. I like my beef mooing and the prime rib was exceptionally bloody. The pasta station was excellent - everything fresh and hot - and the other dishes including turkey and dressing were good. The desserts were ok but by that time I was stuffed. We would do this one again.

Whispering Canyon - We ate lunch here one day and breakfast another. Frankly, while the food was good this is the first time in a Disney restaurant I felt the portions were skimpy. I ordered the quesadilla for lunch ($7.95) and the portion was very small. It was good though but at other restaurants where I've ordered this I am usually served more than enough. I saw someone at another table get the Nachos and that portion looked skimpy too. Our waitress Judy was also a disappointment to my DS. While nice enough she was obviously tired and gave none of the "special" treament at any of her tables. Breakfast was better. I had the neverending skillet and the eggs were good. DS had the waffles and they were dry -- apparently overcooked.

Chef Mickey for breakfast - We always have a good time here. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. It is a very fun atmosphere. The only thing I noticed was the character interaction was very very rushed. Time for 1 picture and they were gone. I know the restaurant was busy but it would have been nice to have another 30 seconds. Would definitely eat here again.

Trails End Buffet - Was really looking forward to eating here but extremely surly service by the hostess turned us off and we left. We were a party of 2 and were told it would be 20 minutes and perhaps we should go next door and have appetizers instead. While we were waiting parties of 6+ were coming in and being seated before us and I saw the hostesses putting tables together to make room. That got me made so we left.

Thanks for the reviews. Sorry to hear about 'Ohana. We were gonna go there one night during our Oct trip, but changed to Boma based on reading some threads and taking an informal poll from the board.

Good to hear about Chef Mickey's. We're doing that for bfast. Maybe we can come up with strategies for "delaying" hurried characters? New thread alert!

Hopefully our dinner at WC will be more lively. I'm getting the skillet (YEAH!), so portion size shouldn't be an issue. A fresh crew may help, and maybe things pick up in the evening? Just hoping here. The bfast skillet sounds interesting......

IMO, you shoulda said something to a manager at Trail's End, and then left. The hostess ruined your day, and I wouldn't blame you one bit for returing the favor.

Sorry that 'Ohana wasn't so great...it's always a bummer to have a so-so meal that you pay $25 for. I had the same experience at Chef Mick's with the quick character interaction...the only one who stayed longer than 45 seconds was Chip.

That's too bad about O'Hana's. The food has always been good when we've gone, but I can see that it's possible it can get overcooked and that would sure ruin it.

However I must admit the service has been somewhat inconsistent with out visits. Sometimes it's good and some times our server is nowhere to be found. So, it wouldn't surprise me that they food may get overcooked on occasion.

Thanks for the reviews.

I think you hit 'Ohana on an off night personally. Over the past two years it has been elevated to one of our top three or four restaraunts and we have eaten there 5 times in the past 18 months with absolutely stunning results. The food is (usually)great and the atmosphere is just plain fun...
