My DD (16) and I spent 9 days at Disney. We were there from 8/21-8/29. We stayed the first night at Pop Century and 7 nights at the GF in Conch Key garden view room.
The room at Pop was just fine, we were in the 80's section, top floor, close to transportation, those were my two requests. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable for us. My negatives were no coffee maker and the room size is small, however those were the only negatives I had. If we would have stayed more than one night, the size and lack of coffee in the am when I am getting ready would have been more of a concern. I know you can bring a small coffee pot so that would be a for sure if staying more than one night.
The GF was wonderful, our room was quiet, close to main building, close to boat dock, and we had a great view of Wishes from our balcony. Our room faced the water and the monorail track. The turn down service at night with chocolates on the pillow was great. The staff was very helpful and it was all around a great stay there.
Our dining experiences were all really good for the most part. The wait staff was harried at times, especially refilling drinks, such a pet peeve of mine. We tried new this trip LTT, HDDR, Nine Dragons, CP breakfast, The Wave breakfast, Tony's, and a dessert party put on by the travel agency we used at Epcot for Illuminations. We enjoyed all of these new to us places. Food was all good, not great but overall good.
We had great park days, we did all the headliners in each park several times. The CM's were all very friendly and helpful, very few that seemed preoccupied or not enjoying themselves. The parks were busy but not overly. The transportation was good. We never waited more than 10 minutes for any type of transportation. And we used all, monorail, ferry, and bus. It was hot and humid every day but we lucked out with only 2 brief rain events the whole trip.
We did the Marceline to Magic tour this time around, we did the KTTKT in April and loved it so tried this one. It was so good. Our tour guide Darlene was so into her job and you could tell she loved Walt Disney. The tour is very much about Walt, it focuses on his great story telling, imagination, and his creativity. The end of the tour was so special when Darlene told us she knew Walt as a child, her father was an imagineer. She brought tears to all of us and my DD was so impressed because her dream is to do the Disney college program and eventually be a tour guide at Disney. Darlene has worked for Disney World since 1977! I can't express how wonderful this tour was, if any one is thinking about it do it!
We had a great trip, my DD and I travel to Disney World 1-2x a year together and these trips are so special to me. We enjoy ourselves so much. I really can't think of to many negatives from this trip except my sore feet.
