Well, we just returned yesterday from our perfect WDW vacation...and now its back to the real world, NOOO!!!! But, our vacation was absolutely wonderful! We were there 6 days, 7 nights and stayed at OKW. Crowds were great, weather was great for most of the trip and we had the best time. If anyone has any questions ask away! Hopefully I'll get a trip and dining report started sometime soon.

Glad you had a great time!

Here's hoping you don't suffer any post-Disney depression. ;)

I'm planning our daily activities right this very minute. It's got me so pumped -- I just hate that we're 324 days away.

Welcome back! How was transportation from OKW?

It was excellent; we never waited more than a couple of minutes and the buses were going by constantly. We were in Guest House 26 which is right by the Hospitality House and is the first stop so the bus was always empty when we got on. The boat to DTD was a lot of fun as well.

I was worried about the transportation before the trip, but by the end of the first day all worries were gone. :moped:

This is the Welcome Home I am sure you wish you did not hear. Looking forward to a trip/dining report though! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you liked OKW-that's my favorite resort (well, tied with BCV). Did you go to any evening EMH? If so, how were they-crowded or not?

Glad you had a fabulous trip!

The previous poster asked about morning EMH, so I will ask about the evening EMH. Did you take advantage or avoid?

Did you use any of the published tour plans (Passporter, TGM, UG...) or did you do it yourself? If you used a published plan how did it work out?

Glad to hear you had a great time. We also just flew home today after spending a week at OKW. We really enjoyed this resort, and the parks, and the food, and ..... ;) ;)

We were in building 18 and we got plenty of Welcome Homes.

So glad to here you had a wonderful trip. We'll be leaving in just 4 days and we are so excited. We'll be there for 10 days and I sure hope those 10 days go by very slow. I hate coming back to reality. Maybe by the time we get back you'll have your trip report started and we'll be getting ours together.

Hi, Lin!
Welcome home! Glad to hear your trip went well!
We are leaving in 48 days. I'm looking forward to your trip and dining reports!

To everyone who asked about Extra Magic Hours...we did one evening at Epcot and gave up about 30 minutes in to the evening...it was just way too crowded. The times guide said they were giving out Fast Passes for Test Track, a whole bunch of people were waiting at the Fast Pass station because the cast member at Test Track kept saying they would be handing them out in 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes...needless to say people were getting a bit irritated. Finally a manager came and announced they would not be handing out any so DH and I just headed over to the Boardwalk to walk around instead and had a great time just taking in the sights.

Chris and I are definitely looking into buying DVC, after staying at OKW we don't think we can go back to a regular resort. We did the the DVC tour, (and got a bunch of fast passes for it) and LOVED everything. So, we are in the process of deciding beside resale or normal, and figuring out if we actually have the money to do it or not. To all you DVCers out there, what are your thoughts?

If you bought through DVC, they'd really push SSR (I don't even know if they'd let you buy at OKW). Personally, DH and I bought resale, actually we'd bought through DVC, at another resort (that's all DVC was selling), but after staying at OKW once, we bought there thru resale and sold our other contract. We think OKW is very unique, DH won't stay anywhere else-he loves it! I'll stay at other DVC places, and I actually love BCV, but I agree with him that OKW is somewhat unique. So if you're really "hooked" on OKW (which I can well understand), I'd recommend resale. That's my 2 cents.

Welcome back and glad you had a wonderful trip, weather, and crowds all worked out for you. DVC, if your looking at something other than SSR, then re-sale is your answer. You can purchase ( if points are available ) boardwalk, beach club, and OKW. It was the best move DW and I have made. We have been going to Disney many years, and we calculated all our stays between the different resorts ( just hotel rooms ), we could have purchased 3 contracts into DVC, but; like most people, we were young, raising our kids and was nervous about spending the additional money. But finally we purchased and have enjoyed it very much, and both son and daughter have purchaed, and looking for additional ad on points.

Hmm...maybe low 90's...the cloud cover kept it more bearable, though Saturday was pretty yucky. Living in TX I'm used to the high temp though, so I may not have noticed it as much as other guests.

How do you get the DVC tour? DH and I are interested in learning about DVC and would love to take the tour in August.
