just got back from four days in DLP last night.

Disneyland Park - is amazing - much more detail that the magic kingdom in florida - it sounds cheesey but i felt like i was in america! Pirates, Haunted mansion and big thunder mountain just about blew me away. amazing!

i had a great time. very lucky with weather too.

dreamcastle hotel was nice, american buffet brekkie great - just found the pool a bit small.

shuttles to and from the parks were good - just a bit of a free for all when getting on the shuttles.

visited the disney hotels: disneyland hotel, new york, new port bay, santa fe and hotel cheynne.
would love to stay at disneyland hotel but it was out fo my budget!

just the europeans not so much the french but other nationalities did cut in line sometimes and once or twice people physically pushed me out of the way. i was good - i didn't get into any arguments with them!
One woman got her karma - there was a line to meet Buzz - she cut in about 3 people in front - her kids were even crying - was it really worth it?
she gets to meet buzz - then her camera didn't work - karma.

the studios i liked - much smaller and not as busy but i thought a few of the shows were a waste of time.
i would go back though.
Obviously they eed to put more stuff in there - TOT is coming along nicely!

minnie mouse was great had a wicked suit on at the entrance to the studios in front of her limo - she had the red and yellow suit on with the sunglasses on her head! i said that she looked 'fantasique' and she done a great dance for me.

thanks to the tips on here - we saw the characters at 4pm do a dance and meet and greet in the disneyland hotel - it was good but there were a lot of people there - so the meets afterwards were a bit hectic again - no queuing system.

meeting the characters when there wasn't a queuing system was crazy - i would def. reccomend doing cafe mickey to meet the characters (and not bothering trying to meet them if there isn't a queuing system in the parks) - parents were allowing their kids to go up to the characters when they were not visiting their tables. the characters were good though - they would tell them to go away and would not sign for them. i felt that the cast members should have told people when they got seated at their tables to wait for the characters to come to your table.

rainforest cafe - for two lasangas (sp) and three cokes was £35 - and it wasn't even that great. way too expensive but you have to eat don't you?

would def. go again but off season.

Welcome back! :wave2:
Glad you enjoyed your trip and liked DLP!
Since I`m visiting DLP in 5 days ( :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :sunny: :cool1: ) I`m wondering how crowded was it this week? Was it possible to go on the major rides without waiting too long? Any tips you consider helpful?

I am pleased overall you enjoyed yourself. DLP really should take order of the pushing in. We are leaving on the 14th August and we know its going to be packed. I will wear my cast iron outfit ready for anyone pushing in :lmao:

glad that you had a great time and that you liked DLP.

it was busy - buzz and thunder mountain by late morning was about 50 min wait and by 3pm the fast passes had gone.

so def. get there early and fast pass stuff.

also don't do disneyland park on a wednesday if possible - that is when the french skool children have a day off skool - so the park can get busy. we done a whole day in disneyland park on the tuesday and a couple of hours first thing on the wednesday.

GET THERE EARLY - we got to the disneyland park around 8.15-8.20am on both mornings - they open up the park early - but all the lands are roped off until 9am - it is good to have a walk through the arcades just chill and look at the map - to get an idea of what you want to do first.

mickey is just at the front of the turnstyles in the park in a car - but that meet can get a bit hectic.

we only had a two day hopper - so spent a whole day in disneyland park - which did cane us - so if you can get a three day hopper that would be better - then you can split that park over three days.

for the disneyland parade at 4pm get a seat just on the edge of fantasyland - there are concrete seats at the side of the castle - main street the castle hub is rammed. the concrete seats were good. get there about 20 mins before hand.

have fun - and def. make reservations for the disney village restaurants - we didn't eat until 11pm one night in the rain forest cafe because it was very busy.

have fun!

Thanks for the advice! :thumbsup2
We`ll arrive around lunchtime on wednesday and now I`m prepared to take it slow on our first day and not to expect to get to see everything we want. We will have thursday and friday until early evening so there should be enough time for everything. We will try fantasyland stage seats for the parade and get up very early to be there at rope drop.
I just wish we could have booked for end of august as usual...
Thanks again!

Also the french schools are on there summer holidays, Have been for the past few weeks so I am not sure that wednesday will be any busier than other week days.

Glad you had such a great time :goodvibes Did you visit anywhere else in the end, or did you just stay at Disney?

Great to hear that you had a super time. Look foward to hearing all about it :)

we were in the disneyland park full swing - so i decided just to stay there.
it wasn't showing on the wednesday when we went to the studios.
we saw stitch being driven in the main street paddy wagon with a few other characters.

maybe next year...

got a great stitch toy!
