Just back GF/AKL split stay

Just back from 4 nights GF(our third year in a row);3 nights at AKL(1st time); GF Ap rate garden view-got upgraded to Boca Chica Lagoon-Magic Kingdom view(did not ask) great GF stay as always. Also got "upgrade" to deluxe Savannah(must have been our week for luck. Loved themeing at AKL lodge and restraunts but very busy(but relatively laid back)-still sorting out my final analysis of AKL. Any questions?

What was your all around impression with the AKL?
Was it as fabulous as you expected?

Nice!! My two favorite resorts!!
Do you wish you'd stayed at GF the whole time?
So nice that you got upgraded at both resorts!
Did you try both Boma and Jiko?
The two are so completely different in every way but I love them both. GF is my ideal resort, though. Just my style ...
Did you rely solely on Disney transportation at both resorts? How many were in your party? Were you on Zebra Trail or Kudu Trail?
AKL is quite something, though, isn't it?

Have never asked for an upgrade(nor received,until now) Just luck and happy about it. My wife and I thought AKL was great(1 6yr. old daughter liked it alot), but we too I think will always be Gf devotees. You just feel like you are really at WDW when your at the Gf, with monorail, MK, etc. So I dont know for sure, about splittinh our reservation(will always have to have some Gf). But, I must say transportation at AKL was fine(Ak and MGM;did MK and epcot when at Gf), Dining at Jiko and Boma were great, but citricos was our best meal of trip. I think we were on Zebra trail(same side as pool and restraunts, rm. 5508), location was convienent, but animals seemed more abundant on "interior" part of savannah. Both resortd did not disappoint

Do you remember your Boca Chica room number. I know some of the Boca Chica lagoon rooms do not have a good Magic Kingdom view. Thanks
