I would like to give my 2 cents on the food choices at Disney that may help any of you out
This was our first family vacation to Disney, DS's 6 & 7, DH, 33 and ME 31.
Went to Chef Mickey's for dinner our first night at 5pm. Food was not bad. My kids could eat and they are picky and so is my hubby. The dessert bar was great hot cherry cobbler with ice cream..
But they character interaction was awesome. They were at our table 3 times and the service we had was great. ( I believe this was $80.00 some dollars)
For those of you thinking about Sci-Fi I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER go there again. It took us over 2 hours because our server was so bad. The food was not at all good. My sons fruit cup for dessert had rotten grapes all through it. My husband and I were really disappointed for this one and we had a $102 bill.
Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic package.......my kids and husband and I all enjoyed this. THe service was good and we had a great lady sit next to use to tell us what all the italian desserts and dishes were and I had the chocolate truffle cake, I believe, it was great. My husband had the hazelnut cheesecake and he said that it was the best he ever had. He said that veal was great and my Firewood Chicken was excellent.
(Around $102.00 , with grat. included)
Coral Reef......I really enjoyed this, I had the NY Strip and it was excellent. My hubby had the tuna and he said it was great with some type of soy sauce dressing. My kids had grilled steak and grilled fish. I had the chocolate wave which was great and the DH had Butterscotch Brulee. My oldest DS had the make your own sundae and he loved it and the youngest got the Peanut butter candy bar to go and it was pretty good. This meal for 4 was $165, that is with the 18% gratuity included.
Ohana's...I was worried about this after all the reviews. A note to all parents, make sure that your kids are big meat eaters. My youngest had 2 wonton chip and tried one bite of all the meats and that was all he ate. My other son tried the meats but didn't care for any but the steak and it was a little on the fatty side and he wouldn't eat much. The shrimp was excellent and the wings were okay but DH and DS did not like them. I thought that the turkey and steak were excellent. The steak was very medium though so my DH would not eat it. He also enjoyed the turkey. The sausage really had no taste to it. And the pork just was plain not good. THe potato's were good. THe salad was okay. The Banana Foster pudding with the ice cream on top was great. But once was enough and we agreed that we would not do this meal again . (this was $94.57 for all of us)
O'hana's - Lilo and Stitch breakfast.- My kids loved this meal. I thought that the fruit was great and the breads. My youngest had 2 mickey waffles and some bacon. My oldest had 3 biscuits, and bacon and more bacon. My DH said that this meal was okay but he is not a big breakfast eater and I had this scheduled for 10:30 I believe. But over all would probably do this again if the kids wanted too. ($74.65 for the 4 of us)
WCC - The food was really good. We were fortunate that we were seated out near the DVC table and Pin Trader station so it was more low keyed so the kids didn't mind. We both had steak and it was really good. And the Gold Rush Nachos were also very tastey. The kids had grilled cheese and PBJ. We were so fool that we asked if we wanted dessert to go so we had the Apple Carmel Pie, which was excellent and the Smore cheesecake which was also good. (99.74 was the bill here)
And we had Cosmic Rays which we all enjoyed, Pecos Bill was okay and Pizzafari at AK was liked by all. The kids loved the pizza and I had an Italian sandwhich and my DH had the Chicken Parm. Sandwich. Other than that we ate at Roaring FOrks and the family all seemed to be happy with there choices there. Our bill was usually 47.00 or close to that range for 4 of us at all TS meals that we had.
Hope this helps some and If I can answer any questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks
