Just back from Windsor Hills!

We just returned from a seven night stay at WH and absolutely loved it. We rented a 3 bedroom condo-Treasure Cay-from Florida Sun Vacation Homes. The condo was beautiful, exactly as described. It turned into an all girls trip-my two adult daughters, a friend of my daughters' and myself. It was so nice to be able to spread out and have our own space. We ate breakfast every morning in our condo and would come back from the parks some days for lunch. There was a super Target a few minutes away. The pool was fabulous, but we didn't use the work out room, etc. The best part was the short drive to Disney. It was literally five minutes away. We took the shortcut every day and couldn't believe how quickly we were at the parks, there was no traffic. We stayed offsite a couple of years ago at Cypress Point, and although it was very nice, it was not as convenient as Windsor Hills. I loved staying onsite, but to be honest, I don't think I will stay onsite ever again unless it is just my husband and myself.

Thank you so much for the wonderful trip report! Our family is staying in WH for the first time next year and we can't wait!! :)

So glad to hear it!! We leave Saturday and are staying at Windsor Hills. Couple of questions if you don't mind :) Any chance you can see any of the fireworks from anywhere at Windsor Hills? Also did you use the transportation there to the parks? Saw it listed on the website but wondered how often they run and how much it is. Thanks!!

We didn't see the fireworks at anytime, but we weren't looking either. I think that I read somewhere here that you can see them from some areas. We didn't use the transportation. It was such a short drive and we always stayed together so we didn't need it. I think the cost was $10 per person and you had to make a reservation. I'm not much help with your questions, am I:rolleyes:! But you'll have a great time! Have fun!

What was your shortcut? We stayed their in October and are going back in August. My husband is the driver, but I think he hopped on the highway to get to the parks. Is there a better way?

Feel the same way! We rented a townhouse at the Windsor Palms in April and as much as I love Disney we will never stay on site again! Just to have space to spread out was wonderful!

Oops, just realized after the last post that we are staying at Windsor Palms, NOT Windsor Hills. Off to search for info on Windsor Palms! :)

I have stayed at both Windsor Hills and Windsor Palms, and you are in a no-lose situation! Both resorts are great. You can't even begin to compare the value you get for the money as compared to the cost of a single resort room on site. Once upon a time, I dreamed of staying on site. And then I woke up to the beautiful reality of vacation homes, at these resorts in particular. Now, you would have to GIVE me a room on site... and I still might opt to pay for a vacation home. We paid less for 10 people to stay in a lovely 5 bed/5 bath house than we would have spent for a single moderate resort room.
Did I mention that you can pack very light... and leave lots of room in your suitcase(s) for souveniers and shopping? After all, you can toss on a wash before you go to bed, and throw it in the dryer while you have your breakfast and the kids have an early morning dip right outside your kitchen/dining window.

That's exactly how we feel! We just have NO desire to stay in just one room. And I agree about the packing too. Plus, I love taking home all clean clothes instead of having all that wash to do when I get back! :goodvibes

Not having tons of dirty clothes to face when I get home is yet another reason we want to stay offsite!!
