I can understand where lack of towels could be a problem if not enough for everyone there to shower without doing laundry. The owner may not even be aware of the fact there not enough towels ppl do tend to leave them at the pool or even take them home.
1st thing I do upon arrival at a condo/townhouse is take inventory of what is there. I've had to buy paper towels an toliet paper most every time other than that anything else I made do with. Sometimes I've taken biscuits off the breakfast menu because there was no cookie sheet or anything to bake biscuits on other than that nothing has ever changed.
DH unloads while I do the inventory
2 Soon as everything is unloaded an inventory taken usually less than 10 mins we go to store. I already know what I'm buying and pretty much know how much of everything I'm buying before leaving home. Also try to go to Walfart cause I'm familuar with the store an if you been in 1 you pretty much been in all of them. DH is a very thrifty shopper an helps with shopping too.
3 Once back at the condo we put stuff away then I cook up the breakfast sausage for the entire stay if longer than a week I freeze it. I take a few freezer bags from home not the whole box tho cause they have many uses. Anything that can be cooked ahead I cook then. Usually we travel on a harley all 900 miles if in a car I haul down cooked food in a cooler to save time there. Rather than heating whole pan of what ever I fix our plates an heat in microwave much quicker. I keep all meals very simple an easy but usually healthy too.
4 DH ALWAYS does the dishes usually sits the table too while I heating up our meal.
5 Even tho it's just the 2 of us I do our laundry daily anyway traveling on a harley we can only take 3 changes of clothes for the parks an 2 changes of clothes for the ride down an back. As we come in the door from the parks we strip off our clothes the darks goes in washer an is started before I do anything else. Usually we take a mid day break an like to change clothes then too before I go do anything else I start the washer. Even when returning at the end of the day at night we usually up long enough to get that load of darks in dryer by then we have usually showered an I at least put the whites an light colored clothes in washer an start it might not get them to dryer before bed if not they go in dryer 1st thing in the morning by the time DH is up they usually dry. I'm very lucky DH will sometimes fold the clothes for me carry them to the room they belong in.
Even tho it's usually just the 2 of us we get at least a 2 bedroom 2 bath I put all my stuff in the 2nd bed an bath we can both be showering an getting ready at the same time without falling over each other or sittin waitin for 1 to get out of shower.
Even when we traveled with kids DH helped me an helped with the kids at the same time. Sometimes it was better if he took the kids to the pool while I did stuff other times when they was old enough to help everyone had a job we tried to do all jobs at the same time no one did anything fun till the work was done.
All the work should never fall on 1 person it's everyones vacation that should be fun for all. When the kiddies was little an we took naps (rule was always nap for 1 hour or at least rest in bed QUIETLY for 1 hour before pool time) DH an I took turns getting up an going out with the kiddies to the pool while the other rested or had quiet alone time awhile longer.
As far as taking out trash washing towels an taking sheets to the washer NO PROBLEM for me nor is loading dishwasher which DH always does. Myself I don't care to handle others dirty laundry towels an sheets or dishes which might be why I've never cleaned hotel rooms or worked in a resturant. Besides it helps the cleaning person.
OH an the day before we leave for home everything is packed we leave out a change of clothes for the next day an only the tolietries we have to have toothbrushes deodorant usually try to do that during our midday break.
Even if I had to totally clean my rental myself before leaving I'd rather do that than a hotel room I don't keep the same hours as DH I need a place to be while he sleeps an in a hotel room I end up with a chair in the bathroom with the door closed so I can at least read.NOT FUN!
