Just back from WDW using MYW dining plan

I thought Le Cellier was one ???? I'll be bummed if it's not. Pretzel bread and cheese soup- YUM!

It's included, but it's one of the signature restaurants - redeem 2 table service meals per person ones.

We're going to eat there for lunch and pay separately, then use that day's counter-service for our last day.

Wow, it looks like on an average day, you were able to save alot of money! I work at the WL and have had 2 different tables with MYW dining so far. Each of the checks for 2 people were over $100.

So did the MYW system give u your tip? did Disney WL mang't give u your $? Are the CM's making out alright?

I am asking because we are going in august and I used to be in the resturaunt biz so I know what it is like..Iwouldn't like to short change the CM's! :sunny:

It's his payback for biting little holes in the legs of my pants when he was a baby. That dog had some little shark teeth!

Betsy, I didn't realize you had a Peanut! (He is very cute BTW). We also call my DD Peanut, hence the first part of my username! :goodvibes

can someone clarify this plan (maybe even someone who's tried this??)

i read you can't use this for Fantasmic, but the agent told me you can.

and how about CRT - can you use it for the character breakfast??

thanks!

I'm just glad I'm not going for another year and half... all the kinks should be worked out by then. :)

I haven't tried the plan yet but I did call & was told no it can not be used :sad2: .

Yes you can use it for all character meals.

Here's a question I haven't seen yet. When we are on vacation, we normally eat breakfast and dinner only. We'll be staying at WL in Aug. and I'm debating whether or not to add the meal plan to our package.

Does anyone know what you get for breakfast if you use counter service, like at Roaring Forks?

Also, we typically aren't real big eaters and often share meals, especially at Disney (there portions are often so huge). Could you say use 2 counter service meals for breakfast and share them among a family of 4 and then do the same for lunch? With counter service, how would they know how many are in your party?

Look at the first page of this thread from Pea-N-Me. Her information was very helpful as we are planning on a trip in Dec 2005. I also sent her email with questions and she was great to respond! :flower:

You can definitely share counter service meals. The only thing about using those for breakfast on the dining plan is that it might be a better "value" to use them for lunch or dinner. You can check out www.allearsnet.com and click on Dining to view the menus for park & resort restaurants. That will help you know what is offered at Roaring Forks, too. It just depends on what you choose and which restaurant.

Also - look at http://www.touringplans.com/MYWDining.html for a great overview of the dining plan.

Hope this helps! :wizard:

I've also heard you can't use it at Fantasmic, but you can definitely use it for the CRT breakfast and many other character meals. You can view the official list of restaurants participating in the plan here. You just exchange 1 table service for the character meals as indicated on the list. Also, Coronado Springs' Pepper Market (counter service) and Maya Grill (table service) are now accepting the plan, but it's not on the list yet. Hopefully they will revise it soon.

thanks everyone for the advice! looks like it may be a good deal for my family- tho my wife just said 'you think we'll eat dessert every night??' what a question! - it's vacation, silly :rotfl2:

I think it's a good deal, too. Tell your wife she gets the dessert with the counter service AND table service meals. So twice a day!

See page two ##22-27 for some breakfast responses. You can get what you want and they'd charge you for counter service options. I bet you could even grab some fresh fruit or something and they'll include it in your meal. Remember, they charge according to where you eat, not what food you get. And if you don't want to miss out on your dessert you could get the prepackaged ones they sell with your breakfast and keep it in your room for later since it is included. If we ever do it again we'd probably do breakfast too some days since a big lunch and dinner made us so full!

To answer your second question, yes, you could do it that way (share 2 breaksfasts and 2 lunches); in fact I think that's a pretty good way of doing it. Just make sure you only get what's included with 2 options, and explain to each cashier how to ring it up so they don't "overcharge" you.

I think there really is a lot of flexibility to the plan. Just make sure your clothes are loose. :rolleyes1

pmtaylor, thank you. :wave2:

Okay, I have another question. I'm still trying to figure out if we want to do this.

Can you still "split" meals at sit down restaurants if you have the dining plan. For example, can my daughter (age 13) and I split one meal (appetizer, entree, and dessert) and have an "extra" sit down meal left for splitting again somewhere else?

I'm especially thinking of this at PT 50's and Sci Fi where we've eaten before and you get SO much food!

I don't see why not. Just make sure you get "charged" correctly. My only fear would be you would end up not using all of your "coupons". Would you really spend time going to two different places for dinner? My way of thinking was, I don't want to not use up all our meal options so we might as well all get our own. But if you think it can work for you then go for it!

I think that would work well at places that require you to use 2 (signature places.) That way, you'll still be using 2 (instead of 4) and you get to try the 'nicer' places :)

at what age do they consider a child? i just called up wdw and they said my kids would be 9.99 but they are 11 and 13.
