Did you have a renovated room? What kind of view. and how was transportation. Did you eat at any of the S/D restaurants.

have a renovated room and it was very nice. Great size (for a hotel room) and very nice decorating. We were in room 6017 and had a balcony and a great view of the Epcot fireworks! We also bought Club Level privs with our SPG points and that was very nice.

We ate at the Dolphin Fountain our first night and it was prett good for burgers and fries. We also got 2 pizzas from Tubbi's to take up to our room one night when we were too tired to go anywhere. Great deal for a family!

Transportation was great. We had to wait maybe 15 minutes once for a bus. Most of the time, we only had to wait 5-10. Boats were about the same.

There has the huge Christmas tree up and lite yesterday morning and were to start on the train around it last night.

Great hotel and great trip! Please ask if you have anymore!

Which place has the character breakfast in the mornings?

We have our first stay (but at the Swan) next month. Can't wait! Thanks!

Just wanted to know if you used the pool. We were there in aug. and the water was warm, but I just read from another poster who just got back that they thought the water was freezing. Just wondering because it would be a consideration if we take a mid winter school break vacation.

FREZZING!!!!! Since all of the "true" Disney resorts have heated pools, I assumed the Dolphin pool would be heated....WRONG!!!!!! It was cold. When the sun was out, it was barely bearable but when a cloud rolled in, OUCH!!!!

Is 6017 considered a lakeview or resortview room? Also was it a corner room. You said it was large and I have read that the corner rooms have 2 windows and are quite large compared to the regular ones.

Technically, the Swan/Dolphin pools are heated, according to the website. Several people have posted that they aren't heated enough at any of the WDW resorts. It may depend on time of year, weather, etc.

Gulliver's at the Swan has character meals. I believe the breakfasts are only certain days of the week, but character dinners are on most nights. We went to the dinner buffet with two characters there. I liked it for the kids' buffet line they had. The kids could get food from the regular buffet too.

- We also bought Club Level privs with our SPG points and that was very nice -

How many points did you have to redeem per night to upgrade?

When did you "purchase" your Club privilages? I'd like a renovated room with Club priv (but not club floor).

our Club Level upgrade 5 days out from when we checked in. It was the first day we could purchase the upgrade. It cost us 1,500 a night. I mentioned that Starwood had said several months ago that the CL was 1,250 but they said that it was now 1,500 from Starwood and the Dolphin itself. Glad we got it before we checked in as they had no more by the time we checked in. It was nice to have but don't think I would pay "real" money for it.
It was a haul to go from the East 6th floor up to the CL for breakfast but with the room view and renovations, it was worth it.

6017 was not a corner room but just one away. I said it was large in comparison to some other Disney resorts and hotel rooms in general. It also had a balcony which we used more than we thought we would. It was nice to sit out there at night and watch (and listen) to the Illuminations from Epcot.

are the restraunts in the S/D very expensive? We've only stayed at the moderate resorts and the ASMO once. My dad's worried that what we save on the room (we want to use the teacher discount offered from this page) we'll spend in food. Normally we only eat breakfast at the resorts though. What did you think?

Welcome back. We are considering staying at the Dolphin this summer as my husband is a teacher. It's nice to hear the rooms were in great shape. I bet the beds were comfy!

We only ate at Tubbi's and the Dolphin Fountain and found the food to be reasonable (for the area) and very good.
