99% great trip. The resort was great. Peaceful, beautiful and quiet. The room was almost perfect. There was a broken towel bar in the bathroom and we called just so they would know about it as per the suggestions on the board. Maintence came almost immediately to fix it!

We had a dedicated 2 bedroom...we didn't specify that as we didn't know the difference between the dedicated and the lock-off at the time we made reservations.

It was a little embarassing when my guests tried to have their room cards activated with their charge card. I already had our charge on our room cards so I thought they could have theirs room keys activated with their credit card. The explanation I got was "If you are staying on points we can't do that...everyone else can but if you are staying on points you can't" Needless to say, I felt a wee bit embarassed...they sort of acted like we got our points out of a Cheerios box and we were not entitled to the same conveniences as other guests. I know this is a sore topic on this board. This is the first time I have experienced "staying on points" discrimination.

If VWL were not so beautiful I might be tempted to dump my points. Really felt second class at that moment. I got over it and had a great time.

Other than that the trip was great. If you are a baseball fan, try and catch an Atlanta Braves game. Cracker Jack statium is beautiful.

(This was pretty much an adult trip although we did the parks). Any questions or comments gladly welcomed.

I'm confused. I don't really understand what you mean about charging on your room card and what wasn't allowed. Weren't you all staying on the same points? Why were you allowed to and they were not? I have always been asked at check in if we wanted to use our room cards for charging and we always stay on points. Is that the same as what you're talking about?

I can somewhat understand why you can't do this with a dedicated 2 bed. , but it makes no sense to me why you can't with a lockoff. Especially now that each KTTW card has the individuals name on it. We have always been aware of this quirk in the system and have just worked around it. My Dad charged a couple of things on the "group" account when we went in Feb. He went to guest services to pay his portion on the account. They took his payment from his credit card and then proceeded to place his card as THE credit card on account. Soooo, on checkout day, we had to go in to the lobby at SSR and have them refund my Dads credit card, (because of course on the morning of checkout they had already charged the rest of the balance to his account) and then charge the balance to our card. What a hassle! Glad you enjoyed the rest of your trip. The lodge is my favorite place!

Thanx for the report, pharmlivin. I'm happy to read that most of your trip went well. I can certainly see how that situation could be embarrassing, though.

I must be way out of touch, as I thought only one credit card per room/villa could be used regardless of a point or cash stay.

What I do with my guests is let them have charge privileges on my card, then collect at the end of the trip.
This is very easy to do, as each charge is identified by a number (1,2,3 ect...) on the staement.

Again, glad you enjoyed VWL... :drinking:

There is an option in the system designed to be used for convention guests who are sharing a room, but paying separate bills, to have multiple credit cards on their room. This option is only available in cash reservations. DVC has a totally different setup that does not even give that "share' option.

The folio is always designed to track each transaction by room key sequence number (printed at the bottom of your KTTW). We usually go to the desk the night before checkout and get a copy of our bill. We add up each party member's charges separately and then go back down to the desk and pay with multiple forms of payment. It is a little more time consuming, but it works.
