Had a wonderful, whirlwind trip to Vero. Resort was lovely as always. We got our room (no. 2422) right away (at 1:30 p.m.) and it was in great shape, with a nice roomy balcony and a view of the ocean. CMs were great, very friendly. Got a welcome home right off the bat. They said place was booked solid through Easter.

Had lunch at Shutters (the tuna club is terrific!) and our anniversary dinner in town at Cafe du Soir (really fantastic and romantic. The best red snapper I've ever had.)

We didn't have the best weather karma. It was warm and sunny when we got there -- then the skies went dark and the temps dropped! But we used the opportunity to get in some reading and I got a relaxing, one-hour deep tissue massage. The price was really good -- I would have paid more in South Florida.

We also stopped by the Environmental Learning Center on the way out of town. It would be great for kids... we'll take DS next time.

The weather in February in Florida is always difficult to predict. :confused:

Thanks for your report! I hope to stay at Vero in the next couple of years and seeing your report makes me want to go even more.

Thanks Again. ::yes:: ::MickeyMo

Does Vero have a spa? Is that where they do the massages?
They have a massage room and sauna between the men and women's locker rooms. There's a great workout room with a nice selection of equipment behind the community room.

Thanks for the report and for the restaurant tip!

Glad to hear of your good time! I will be there two weeks from today and can't wait. The 1 hour massage sounds great - what is the price? Thanks!

My husband had a one hour massage in October and it was only $55. I consider this to be a bargain!

He just booked a massage. He was told that he could request a specific type at the massage-swedish, deep tissue, etc.

The deep tissue massage was $65 for an hour.

And I don't think you need reservations at Shutters. Probably for Sonya's, though, which is the upscale restaurant there. We've had several good meals there, too, but we wanted to get out and explore some of Vero. We normally spend the whole time in the pool!

Jodi -- The Global Lifeguard site is mentioning that Disney is doing work on the beach stairs. Did you see this?
