Just Back from Vero Beach

We did 11 days in a 2BR at Vero and had a wonderful time.

Some Thoughts:

1. Go to the Ocean Grill in Vero for a nice meal. It was casual with menu prices from $15 to $30. Excellent food.

2. We got a room near the pool, which was great since we spent almost every day there.

3. The staff was extremely friendly and constantly went out of their way to make everyone happy.

4. The beach is not so great, but good enough for a walk or to look for shells.

5. We ended up driving to Wal Mart almost once a day (we have 2 kids and my wife got sick during the trip). It is a 15 minute drive and that can get old.

6. We did KSC and the Magic Kingdom for a day while there. It took 90 min to get to KSC and 120 min to get to MK. That made for very long days. But fun.

7. Vero Beach is still in great shape. Our room had new TVs. Flat screen Sonys in the LR.

Whatcha mean about the beach?
I'm a Florida Girl so I know that coast is a little rough for little ones. The water is gray. Not blue. The beach at Vero is thin not wide like the west coast.
I hope that's what you mean.
It wasn't filthy was it?

I am curious on why you say the beach is not so great???
I havent been to Vero Beach since 1998, so, it isnt fresh in my mind...

The beach was clean and all, but it was short and not the kind of beach you would spend a day at. We made a sand castle and collected shells. There are many reasons that I would go back to Vero Beach, but the actual beach is not one of them.

My favorite beach is the adult beach at Castaway Cay. There are no real waves there (the only downside), but it is crystal clear and you can go out hundreds of yards before it is really deep.

Thanks for the VB report. We're going to make our first trip to VB next summer for couple days, to recover from a week of commando-style WDW fun.

Beach is not a big deal for us... In fact, we'd probably be more interested in walks and shell hunting.

Looking forward to it!
