Hope it's ok to write a short review of my recent stay at the Yacht Club.

We had stayed there 4 years ago at Christmas time (pre-renovations) and had a great stay although the room was looking a little worn (furniture and paint).

Well, we just stayed there again for 5 nights and I can't say enough positive things about the resort and the new renovations! We had garden view rooms facing the quite pool and they were connecting (my room and my parents room) - we don't ask for that but always get it lol. I had requesting the court yard view because last time we had that and really we faced the lighthouse/crescent lake and I loved that but I was told at check-in they were so busy that they couldn't accommodate that request - we did get a high floor though. Oh well, it happens.

The room itself was really nice. The hardwood floor (not real wood - but still nice) was awesome - very clean and modern. Didn't miss carpet one bit. The beds are high but very comfortable and I feel that with them being so high off the ground they can easily clean the floor underneath. I also loved what they did with the vanity area and the added sliding door. Not that I needed it but it would be good if you were sharing with someone. The pocket door for the bathroom was also a nice touch because typically the door just misses the toilet when opening it at most Disney resorts i've stayed at....not a problem, but makes it feel tight. The pocket door really opened up the bathroom. I had the walk-in shower which I really like. So much better than a bathtub. The shower head was high up and the water pressure was perfect. My parents had the same type of room except they didn't get the walk-in shower - but their bathtub did have the glass doors instead of the curtain which is still nice.

I don't believe I ever actually went out on my balcony but I did enjoy the view of the quiet pool area - just not in the room enough to sit out there.

Stormalong Bay was great, as usual. I'm also not one to swim much at Disney but if you're staying at the Yacht & Beach Club you really have to go in at least once - that pool is amazing! The sand bottom is my favorite thing about it. I used the pool twice while there and for me, that's a lot!

Staff was friendly, and it was just nice to be greeted when we arrived with a "Welcome Aboard"! LOL - it's the little things that count. We always go to check in when we arrive even though we do online check in - there's something about speaking to a front desk person that really begins my stay - and even though we do online check in - they always seem to need to do stuff in the computer anyway while we stand there so it's probably good we stop by. Our rooms weren't ready until 3:00pm because they were so busy.

H(M)ousekeeping was great - only twice was I in the room when she knocked and I just told her i'd be out shortly but that I would need service - no problems at all - she came back after I left and took care of the room. One day I returned and my toilet paper was tied into a Minnie-Mouse bow LOL. Never saw that before.

No issues with security or dogs - saw more dogs in the parks than at the Yacht Club itself. I assume security was not an issue since I was receiving daily housekeeping.

All in all a great stay and the Yacht Club would be my choice for my next stay at Disney!

We love the new rooms too, we stayed at YC just prior to the renovations, and were so disappointed in the room that we had a pretty bad impression of the YC, we got a great rate for a few months later and got a renovated room and fell in love, we really liked all of the changes. Sounds like you had a great stay!

I’m staying at the YC 60 Days from today! Thanks for your review, sounds awesome!

We returned from our trip yesterday. We stayed last Wednesday and Thursday at the Yacht Club and then spent three nights at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal. I agree with you 100%. We LOVED the Yacht Club! This was our first stay there. We have, however, stayed at both the Beach Club and the Boardwalk Inn. The Yacht Club is our new favorite. This was a quick visit for us. Next time, I want to stay at least four nights. Glad you enjoyed it. We did, too!
