Just Back From The World...

I am loving your report. We just got back from a combo disney and Cruise. What a blast. We did not get to see toy story. Sad.... The day that we were at the studios, we slept late. First mistake. We got there at 10ish. We got fast passes for rrc first. sigh, second mistake. Then we rushed over to toy story. The line was 85 minutes long, (we didnt see it lower than 75 minutes the whole day) we opted for the single riders, but the cast member said that the single riders was longer than the stand by. All fast passes were out by 11. So we ended up not waiting. We had an awesome day anyway, and I guess now I will have to go again soon. hee hee So go early and go there first.
Sorry for being off subject, and cant wait to hear the rest of your report, I am working on one of my own too.

So wednesday was Epcot day and i've heard lots of people refer to it as "Every Person Comes Out Tired". Well we arrived tired. I don't know if I've mentioned this already, but my shoe of choice for this trip was the croc malindi. These actually worked great the first day but the next morning my ankle was feeling really stiff so I decided that my foot may need a bit more ankle support for Epcot day so I decided to wear my sneakers this day. This will be more relevant later...

Anyways, So we arrived at Epcot around 8:30am for rope drop and it seemed like there were a billion other people there as well. However Epcot is huge so I figured that was why. So right at rope drop we walked right on to Spaceship Earth which newly enhanced is awesome. I remember SE from when I was like eight and it is pretty awesome now. Right after SE we headed straight to Soarin for some fast passes. I think the stand by line at this point was like somewhere between 40 - 60 minutes. Our fast pass return was for like sometime around 11am. To pass some time we ate at the counter service restaurant in The Land pavilion. I had a plain bagel which was good, someone had a Chocolate Chip muffin which looked pretty good and B had an orange juice. After a little pit stop we walked right onto Living With The Land which was kinda lame until we got to the part where you see how they grow the plants. I found that pretty interesting actually. We still had some time to kill so we headed over to Nemo where we walked right on again. Wasn't quite what I remembered as a kid but still pretty cool how they now project Nemo and friends into the tank. We also did Turtle Talk with Crush where Crush asked a young boy what a women's bathing suit top was for and the kid was like "Um...Women wear them to swim, they wear them on their breasts." All the adults immediately cracked up leaving the younger children entirely too perplexed. Anyways...

Here's a picture of those lovely seagulls from Nemo...Man I love these guys.

So it was now time for Soarin and the line was now a 60 minute wait. This was actually one of the longer waits we had with fast pass but oh well, it was worth it. Soarin was pretty much one of the coolest things I experienced at Disney, it wasn't my favorite, but hey its hard to top Expedition Everest. Moral of the story it was worth doing and definately one of the best new additions to Epcot. Just make sure you get a fast pass early.

We spent the rest of the early day doing the rest of the rides, experiencing the shops in Future World and also hitting up Club Cool for quite a while. Adam tricked Nate into drinking Beverly twice. All the boys faces were priceless when they tried it. I passed on the Beverly experience but loved most of the other flavors. The Japanese and the Mexican flavors were two of my favorites. Also the German flavor wasn't too bad either.

Somewhere around this time we decided to take a lunch break at Electric Umbrella. It was pretty busy but we got our food quickly. I just had the chicken nuggets which were good. I think everyone else pretty much just got burgers which looked good as well.

We eventually made our way to Test Track which had a stand by time of 70 minutes so we grabbed a fast pass for that and and hit a few more things. We tried to do Universe of Energy but right as we walked up they announced it had just broken down and was closed till further notice.

Now remember how I said I had switched it up to my sneakers for the day. By this point my feet were killing me and I was wishing for my comfy crocs. So because we were all exhausted we decided to sit down for a bit on the grassy hill near Universe of Energy. I'm pretty sure we all ended up falling asleep on that hill and next thing I knew I was awake and it was Test Track time.

Test Track was awesome! Way better than I could have expected. Really the whole thing was pretty cool. But moving on.

We finally made our way to World Showcase. We rode Maelstrom which was kinda cool but probably not worth the 40 minute wait we had. We browsed all the shops and bakeries. All the shops were really cool and I was able to appreciate World Showcase a lot more now then when I was younger.

By this point though I was dying. My feet were killing me, my legs, my knees, my back. I was not in good shape. In fact I was starting to hunch over from the pain. I was looking like one sad puppy. It was pretty hot this day, not much breeze which probably didn't help. We were pretty much ready to leave the park for the day but Adam and I still had reservations for Le Cellier at 7:00 so we decided to attempt to check in early.

We got to Le Cellier around 6:20 and the hostess informed us that we would probably have to wait till 7 and to go ahead and wait outside. About five minutes later the waitress came out and announced that our table was ready. What a surprise that was. Our waitress was ok...kinda weird. She kinda scolded me for not finishing my whole entree which I found odd. She also did pretty much a full bus on our table half way through our meal which was also kinda weird. But anyways minor details because the food was amazing. We had boring tea to drink again. Adam had the mushroom filet which he absolutely loved, he said it was the best steak he had ever had. I had a plain filet with the cream cheese mashed potatoes. That was the most tender filet I've ever had and the mashed potatoes were amazing. The cream cheese flavor wasn't overly strong but was interesting. For dessert Adam had the cheesecake which he thought was good but nothing to rave about. I had Creme Brulee was good too but not fantastic. All in all though definately a meal we would do again.

After dinner we all headed back to the hotel for an early bed time so we could refresh for the next day so we wouldn't be miserable again. I popped to advil, crawled into bed, and had a great night sleep.

Stay Tuned.
Coming Up: Hollywood Studios, the search for the allusive Sorcerer Ears, and A magical fantasmic day.

Great Job! Lovin your report!:goodvibes

I SO feel your pain. When we were there in May, I think it was about day 5 of our trip and I actually took off my shoes and walked in my socks thru Epcot! It was a wonderful feeling! I had blisters on my blisters. The next few days I wore my Nike Celso flip flops and it was much better!

There must be something about Epcot and hurting feet! Last September when we were there I was wearing my Sketchers and after all morning of them my feet were screaming! We were walking through the Gift Store, man my brain just went blank, the really big one in Future World, anyhow they have everything and I bought socks and Mickey style Keds. I have to say that the CM's were awesome they cut all the tags, and wanted to make sure my feet were ok, offered to get bandaids, etc. True Disney!:wizard:

Later I was sitting on a bench waiting for the rest of my group to get back from the restrooms an female CM that had been in the store came over and asked how my feet were doing? Really, nice that she remembered and even recognized me considering they see so many faces there.

Looking forward to more of your report.

Cindy
