Well, for the first time I sent a fax with my requests a few days before we arrived. I just very politely asked if we could get a room overlooking anything but the parking lot as I was hoping my 2 kids would nap at the same time and DH and I could relax on the balcony. They did the rest! Our room (5168) was next to one of the junior suites. It was a beautiful view from the room, although those hallways are LOOOOONG!! When we were walking to the room the first time, and walking and walking and walking DH was looking at me like "where the heck did they put us?" Well, when we got into the room and pulled the curtains back and saw the old Discovery Island, and the boats and the gyser and the beach... well worth the walk. It actually worked out great because as soon as we got off the elevator on the 5th floor I'd let my 15 month old loose and he had a blast walking/running/tripping/falling all the way down the hall to the room
Oh that lobby... what a magical place! The furniture is so big and comfortable, and there are so many places to hang out. My 3yo dd and I went "exploring" one afternoon while DH and the baby slept and we "found" the staircases on the right side of the lobby (as you walk in). Which led us to "find" the little sitting area with it's own fireplace just over where you enter the lobby. She thought it was so great that we "found" our own fireplace and secret staircases, lol! I'd love to go back during Christmas... hmmm... maybe next year...
We ate at Roaring Forks (counter service) and at Whispering Canyon. RF was OK - typical counter service. WC is a great place to eat. It's nice and loud, so you don't have to worry about the kids making too much noise, lol. The servers are great about knowing which families to get involved in their antics and which ones to leave alone

One night we ate kinda late and our server dropped off our bill when he was bringing us a drink refill (usually they wait till the very end of the meal) because he had kids and he could see that ours were reaching the breaking point - MUCH appreciated! And the desserts... OMG. To DIE for!!
No, we couldn't see the MK but if we looked out to the left while on our balcony we could see the MK fireworks

We watched the water parade a few nights from our room. Boy is that loud! The first time it passed by, I opened the door and the music just filled the room... good thing my DS is a good sleeper, lol!
