We just got in from the swan. The stay was wonderful, The beds are as advertised and the feather pillows were like mine at home. I only had a few small things that i wasn't excited about. The AC shuts off when there is no one in the room so coming back from the parks the room is stuffy and it also shuts off at night when you are sleeping because no one is moving around in the room. The pool closes at 9 pm so there is no swimming after the parks and the grotto pool is a hike. there is a closer pool but my daughter wanted the slide. We would definitely stay there again if there was a deal but had a better time at the AKL last year. Next time I think we will try the beach club. debM

Why do they set the air conditioning to shut off at night when no one is moving in the room??? I read that the Grand Floridian's system does this, too. It seems like a really bad idea for a hotel in Central Florida, especially in the summer.

At the Swan and Dolphin the air does not shut off - but it does get changed to a pre-set level (that I'm sure is not as cool as most people set it) when ever it does not sense anyone in the room.

I'm planning on trying an oscillating fan on our next stay - just need to figure out where the sensor is - so I can place the fan where the sensor will snese the movement.

Are the parks crowded down there. We are going down on the 8th.

Yes, there is a motion sensor that sets the thermostat back to a preset level when it senses no motion after a certain time. I am not sure what that amount of time is! LOL The room quickly becomes cool when you walk back in, though. I love the idea of a fan! I will have to try that next time.

On the pool closing issue. I believe all the resort pools tend to close at what would be considered an early hour for a late night swim. My kids and I swam between 11-1 every night without so much as a backwards glance from security. Many nights we weren't the only people with the same idea. I believe one of the lap pools was open 24 hours, but we prefered the grotto pool even if the water fall and slide weren't available. They both thoroughly enjoyed the slide during the day time hours.

I loved the beds! I was a skeptic on their comfort, until I slept in one. I am now gathering information to make my own "heavenly" bed. I have a great mattress set, I just need to fine tune the coverings!

We loved our first vacation to the Swan, we will definately be staying again!
