Just back from the Poly!!!

If you can afford, or want to afford the Poly & it's been a dream of yours, I say fulfill your dream! I want to book for May, but DH is pretty set on not paying rack rate on matter what. POR is wonderful & I was extremely happy there. But I guess there is just something about the Poly. Just make sure you spend time there, & not go nutty at the parks. We didn't the time we wanted at the resort due to the weather. That's why I need to go back!:rotfl: Here's another shot for you. It's the pics that got to me too!!

We spent 10 days at the Poly, coming home on September 28th. We stayed in Tahiti on the 3rd floor. Absolutely loved in. We were back in our room within 15 minutes from the completion of wishes one night! The walk to the TTC was under 3 minutes. We loved that we could step out our door, see the parade on the lagoon and the fireworks. It was also nice and quiet. We did not have any towel animals (really did not care) but the housekeeper did put our leighs all around the light shades and put our DD3's stuffed monkey in some fun positions, but most importantly to us she thanked us one morning for the tip that we left her every day. I found this very refreshing!

The room was huge and not at all crowded for the five of us with 2 wheelchairs and 8 suitcases! The other advantage to us was when we gave up and rented a vehicle, there was ample parking less than a minute from our room. Another HUGE advantage to us with the wheelchairs was the automatic doors going into the building.

We did not make any requests, as this was our first stay on site and really did not know, but were ecstatic with our room!

We were at the Poly 9/9 to 9/16. Our son and daughter in law had requested Tahiti so when we arrived three days later we were also put in Tahiti. I agree, the rooms were huge and the walk to the TTC was great, but we also asked to be moved and requested Fiji. We were able to stay in our first assigned rooms until our new rooms were ready a big plus on a very hot day. We were moved later in the day and had a marina view from third floor Fiji. We could see the monorail leave the Contemporary and the ferry boat cross back and forth. What a beautiful "garden" view!!!

Pictures are great and glad you got moved and liked it. Funny how different things appeal to us all. I love the Tahiti location, close to TTC, close to beach and quiet pool and quick access to self parking.

I hated Fiji, I always felt I was on the wrong side of everything. :lmao:

Sounds like you had a great time and thanks for the review and pics.
We cant wait to go!:) :)

We just got back from the Poly too!
I requested Samoa and got it. Not only that but ground level facing the volcano pool-couldn't have been more perfect. The kids were able to run right out the sliding door to the pool!
It was our first time and we loved it. So handy to everything and great for watching fireworks each night. We didn't have any complaints at all-well except we wished we had more time to enjoy the resort.

Great Fiji pics! I was thinking that when staying at the Poly it would be nice to be close to the TTC and the quiet pool, but your room view was amazing so it has me second guessing my thinking!

Ummmm, now I am just thinking about your $400/night comment. We are planning to go May 2008 and that is about what it would cost us. What to do? What to do? I know I would be perfectly happy at CSR or POR, but I have been dreaming about the Poly since I was a little girl.

I know what you mean - we love CSR and would be happy to stay there anytime, but we've always wanted to try the Poly. So in July we're doing a split stay 9 nights at Contemporary (because of convention rate too good to pass up) and then to Poly for 4 nights. That way we can try it, but not spend the whole vacation and budget there...;)

Thanks for posting your review. We stayed at the Poly Sep. 13-20/07 and absolutely loved it. We were put in Niue, which at first I was a little disappointed about, but ended up loving it, and would request it again, same room and everything, if we're fortunate enough to ever return. Your pics. brought back happy memories, as it already seems like so long ago.

Thanks for sharing.

Why do Disney trips always seem like so long ago?:guilty: Sitting here thinking about what I was doing at this time last week!! In a very Disney mood tonight-sent some pics to my Dad & made a Disney mix on Itunes which I published for others to enjoy-almost cried listening to Wishes!! Can't wait to go back. Don't know if it will be the Poly or not, hope so:wizard: Here's a couple more pics for those of us missing it tonight! P.S. still lovin' my Fiji room!

Congratulations on your wonderful stay!! Your pictures are gorgeous! You know the more and more I think about it, we just have to try the Poly, don't know why we haven't.

I had to laugh at your Disney ITunes because that is EXACTLY what I am doing right now I miss it so much (we got back exactly a week ago, our plane touched down in Boston, lol).

What a lovely couple!!

Thanks for the photos..hope you don't mind if I save a few?

Glad you had a wonderful trip!

p.s. Are all the photos from your Figi room?? How far down was it, please? Fantastic!! Making me rethink returing to Tokelau!

Oh you're sweet PP. Pretty sure the only pics I've posted have been from my room. Loved loved loved my location. I know it's not for everyone, but for us, it was perfect. It was room number ****. Just kidding:lmao: Room #3307. We are considering returning to the Poly in May. Right now we are booked at POR which we absolutely loved. Doing the whole pro/con thing with the big con being rack rate no discount.:scared1: See what happens. We have alot of talking to do about it. I'm a little scared to book the Poly & not get that same location. I don't want to pay all that money only to feel let down. It was just that perfect. I would rather have that location than get an upgrade to Hawaii. Honest. What to do what to do!!

Thanks for the post and pictures, we will be at the Poly for the first time in November and I'm really looking forward to a laid-back and relaxing resort stay. Your pictures are so wonderful - I think we will be very happy there. All the longhouses sound wonderful in their own way - I can't decide which one to request, or if I should just leave it to fate?

It was just that perfect. I would rather have that location than get an upgrade to Hawaii. Honest. What to do what to do!!

LOL, I was showing my DF your thread 'cause we stayed in Fiji 3315 (marina)
and I said the EXACT same thing about our next trip! Too funny. BTW, u guys look like an awesome couple. :)

I know just waht you mean!! After having a perfect room I always worry it will not be the same, but sometimes we get yet another perfect room!

I agree, would rather have a location I love than be in Hawaii CL....even if they offered us a free upgrade, would pass if it was a 2nd floor room! LOL

Happy planning!

Funny how each of us likes what we like! To do the Poly again in May is keeping me up the last few nights & I've only been home a week. To all those that haven't stayed yet, you will love it. Here's a few more pics.

matching tummies after macadamia pineapple pancakes!
