We stayed at the Poly from Sept 16-27 with a garden view. It was our first stay here and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. We checked in around 7am on Sunday and were the only people in line. We were given Tahiti and were told our room was already ready. We went to the Magic Kingdom first to make the LOEM and stayed until about two. When we went back to our room, we felt that it was a little bit of a walk with two small children (we had a stroller, but didn't want to use it everytime). We wanted to enjoy the volcano pool and the Great ceremonial house so I asked if they had something closer to these things and they gave ua a third floor room in Raratonga. I loved this building. We overlooked the quiet pool and were just steps from the lobby. We got lots of Alohas, had really good housekeeping and thought the transportation was great. It was a perfect fit for us and we booked the bounceback for next year. My only compaints would be the variety of food at captain cooks and I felt the pool was cold. Also, I watched wishes from the beach twice and could not hear the music, but it was so relaxing to watch them from there.

I will post pictures later. We just got home last night and I have to unpack the car and do laundry. Just wanted to let everyone know how much we loved the Poly.

I know someone said that lightning struck sometime early last week and shorted out the sound system for a few days. That was probably while you were there

We too fell in love with Poly last year. Everything was wonderful and we also were in Raratonga. Our room overlooked the monrail, which was great since our DD5 is a monorail fanatic. She was so happy to look out from the balcony every morning to see the monorail arriving.

As for the Food at the counter service venue, we thought it had a great selection. Our visit also coincided with the first day they used the new touch screen ordering system , and aside from a few service glitches attributed to a new ordering system, the service there was wonderful.

Were you really surprised by the cold pool considering it is September and the pools are not heated?? We don't use the pools so we never even consider it.

Glad you too enjoyed your trip to the Poly. I know it is a little on the expensive side, but we will return in the future (after trying some of the other resorts) since it is our favorite resort to date.

It is nice to hear that people really like the Poly. My family is staying there for the first time in Dec. I have heard great things so I hope it lives up to the hype. I have stayed at other deluxe resorts that I have loved so can't wait to see how the Poly compares. I will be checking back again to see the pictures that are posted.

The pools at Disney are heated year around. We were told it was to 80 degrees. So the pool shouldn't have been cold - maybe the heating system was not working properly. We swam at AKL in Feb when it was in the low 80's.

We were there the Sept 15-23 and thought the quiet pool was too warm!

Where did you get that info..........this is the first I have heard about the large pools being heated. Just curious because even small indoor pools are extremely expensive to heat; can't even imagine the cost of heating an outdoor pool the size of most resort pools.

I was just wondering...what is LOEM?

Glad to hear you had a great time...I have not stayed at the Poly but would love to one day.

We stayed Labor Day Weekend (Sep 1-3) and one thing I noticed was that the Volcano Pool seemed too warm (like a warm bath) and the quiet pool was quite cool (took some getting used to). So the pools aren't heated to a uniform temperature by any means! But we love the Poly too.

It said on the information on the tv that the pools were heated. Maybe something was up with it that week. It was the kind of cold that is hard to get those certain areas in, but once in you're ok. It was definitely cold, because my little one had blue lips by the end of the evening.

I will try and post pictures today or tomorrow. I just want to say again we really loved this place and can't wait to go back.
