Just back from the Poly!

We were there for 10 glorious days! It is totally my favorite place and we won't stay anywhere else. But this time we were a little dissapointed. The girl who checked us in was not friendly or helpful at all. She seemed to not want to be there. Then we asked about conceirge for the next trip and all she did was hand us a piece of paper. Wow, real helpful. Then our floor was never vacuumed. It was so gross that I had to call housekeeping and ask them to vacuum it. We also had a light out in the bathroom that we call 3 times about, never was replaced. And the new captain cooks food is great but the service stinks. You have to order it yourself on a computer and then get on line to pay and have them reorder it on their computer. Dumb. I don't understand why they have the computer thing. Otherwise it was awsome. The room is so big and comfy. Pool is excellent. Boat and monorail are excellent. Ohana is excellent. Oh and the spirit of aloha show is corny. Won't do that again. Any questions?

We were in a great longhouse. I just can't pronounce it or spell it. It is something like Aeorotorea? Nice location!

Will be down in about 20 days with three picky eaters. Last year when we were there Captain Cooks was being renovated so we are looking forward to having it back this time. I was wondering do they still have hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries on the menu. Some of the early menus I saw after it opened didn't list them and I haven't looked lately but with you just getting back you will know.

I was just replying to tell you that when we went in May we had a problem with the cleanliness of our room. We stayed in Tahiti.

I am a real stickler when it comes to having the floor vacuum. There really is no excuse in paying those kind of prices for a room, and having to constantly call just get your room vacuumed and a light bulb replaced. Glad that you didn't let it ruin your vacation.

ChrissyC, I just posted my trip report and had the exact same experience with the Poly this time! I don't know WHAT was wrong with those CMs! The lady who checked us in was rude and unhelpful, the servers in the Kona Kafe were grouchy, the housekeeping was bad and we also had lights out everywhere. I don't know what is going on out there, but they are making an impression and it isn't a good one. I have also stayed at the Poly before and I was very disappointing in this negative change.
