Just back from the Poly 3/9-3/14

We had a wonderful time at the Poly. We were on the 3d floor of Fiji, and we had a lovely view if the GF and the cove. We sat out on the Cove Beach and watched the fireworks, wonderful. In fact, the fireworks for the PP&P party were the most spectacular fireworks we've ever seen.

We hadn't been there since before the rooms were updated and I must say they did a wonderful job. The beds were comfy and everything was very clean. Mousekeeping did a wonderful job, everything was spotless.
I also noticed that the CM"s were much friendlier, really quite pleasant. When we stayed here 3 years ago, we all noticed the lack of smiles and definite unfriendliness of many CM's, but this trip was very different. All the CM's we interacted with went out of their way to be pleasant. It really was quite nice.
In fact, all the CM's we interacted with, including in the Parks, were outstanding. I commented to y daughter that it might be because the weather was pleasant and the crowds were still light, I know I get crankier when I'm in Florida during hot, crowded times of year. But whatever the reason, it really made a diffference to be surrounded by happy, helpful CM's.
Much as we loved the Poly, we missed the YC/BC. We really prefer being close to EPCOT and MGM. That's what's wonderful about WDW, there is something for everyone.

Nice to hear you have enjoyed your stay. We stayed there last year for the 1st time in August. It was wonderful.

I am taking DW back for her b-day "week" April 5 to April 13. Her b-day is April 7. She knows about it, but i do have a surprise left up my sleeve. I cant write it because she reads this board.

The grounds are perfect, we like to relax in the lounge at night listening to the Hawaiian music. We like watching the torch lighting ceremony. We like just spending days at the pool.

Our favorite resort before this was POR. We stayed at BW for Thanksgiving and, for us, POLY is head and shoulders above the rest.

The CM's are friendlier. We always said "Aloha" when passing and they always replied.

We leave in 21 days. We are also booked for our summer trip in August at the POLY. We actually booked that last August when we were there.

We stayed in Samoa, 3rd Floor, Pool view. PERFECT !!!!!!!

I agree about those fireworks. We saw them last summer and they were better than Wishes.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! We love the Poly! And the fireworks from P&PP are spectacular.....we had tickets last year and it was by far the best fireworks ever!

Yes, we really enjoyed the Poly. I think the view of the fireworks is actually better from the Poly than from the MK. Of course, you don't hear the music.

kirbsam, the cove is much less crowded than the main beach. I don't think most people think of it but you get a great vista.

Anywhere you can hear the daytime music at the Poly, you can hear the firework music (they pipe it in). I think the cove beach near Fiji is one of the few places where you can't hear them, although it has an amazing view!

Glad to hear you had such a wonderul time! We've only been going to the Poly since the refurb and all of the CMs we encountered were extremely nice. One CM took a good amount of time teaching my daughter some phrases in Hawaiian that she used during our entire trip.

And I wholeheartedly agree about the P&PP fireworks. They are insane!

I love the poly. I had a front window seat at ohanas when the P&PP fireworks were going on. The music was played in ohanas with the fireworks. It was amazing!
