This was another excellent movie from Sherwood Pictures!! If you have not seen it yet please try to do so. It is very good and Kirk Cameron did an excellent job in it. Lots of tears and laughs!!

I know this is a Christian film... I am interested in seeng it...but does it push a certain way of practicing religion...or is it more spiritual ??

I know Kirk is very christian, but I dont believe this is a 'christian' film per se'... It's about family...
I actually am looking forward to seeing it too....

It is not "preachy" at all. In fact I don't think you could really even tell what religion it really is. This is mostly about how to keep marriage together as in the vows.

If you go to www.fireproofthemovie.com you can get more info , see some behind the scenes, some trailers, still pictures, etc.

It really shows a pretty realistic view of how a marriage could end when the couple is not working together but leading seperate lives and how if it is important enough to you to save your marriage, what hard work it can be to save it.

I know several of the people in and behind the scenes. This movie is truly a community effort and is very professional. There are many opportunities for tears and laughs and it is NOT a film about take my religion or you are nothing.

thanks! I had heard about this community making their own films and I think that is great!
I think I will go see it with my DH.... its always good to refocus priorities and put your marriage back on top... life gets so hectic.....
:thumbsup2

I tricked DH into going with me to see it. We were both crying. What a fabulous movie!!

Glad to hear you liked it!! My dh even got tears at the very beginning when the little girl said she wanted to marry her daddy!!! He tried to pass it off as allergies but I know better!!!!

What amazes me is, it's #4 in the nation. It was only shown on 800 screens. The others were shown on, sometimes, 2400 screens!

Must be a GREAT movie!:thumbsup2

DH and I saw it Friday night. It is wonderful! DH and I both were crying.
Also, did you all hear that they brought in Chelsea, his wife, for the kiss at the end? Kirk will not kiss any woman who is not his wife. That is wonderful!

I am also currently reading his autobiography, Still Growing. It is a great book! :thumbsup2

MIL & FIL went to see it Saturday night and said it was great. DW & I will probably go see it at somepoint in the next two weeks, just not sure when we can fit it into the schedule right now. Maybe Saturday morning matineee (I refuse to pay evening adult prices for movies any more and be crowded with inconsiderate people who talk or use cell phones all movie long... not worth the hassle any more).

I hadn't seen one ad on TV or in the magazines for this movie but just saw Kirk on Dr. Phil last week promoting the movie - it looks good and I used to L-O-V-E Kirk Cameron. :lovestruc
It's funny how different he is now in life than his character in Growing Pains.

My wife said i was crying???? Mum4jenn...you told the truth.....I allways get sniffles this time of year!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Great movie! Great to be married to mum4jenn allmost 20 yrs....:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Thanks for putting up with me!

It really was good? Not cheesy?

I rolled my eyes through the entire preview I saw a few weeks ago. It looked so cheesy and fake but you know previews are not always a good example for the movie. I told DH it wasn't even a renter but if so many think it's better than the preview, maybe we'll add it to the queue and give it a shot?

It might be "cheesy" in a few places. Most movies DO have "cheesy" places!!!

Keep in mind that ALL of the actors including Kirk were volunteers. There really are many funny parts and many parts where you will have tears. This movie tries to show you that you should keep your wedding vows sacred and not ready to jump into a divorce every time the wind blows.

This IS a good movie. If you don't believe in marriage or saving a troubled marriage then this might not be the movie for you.

You do need to have an open mind about it if you choose to go see it. If you expect Towering Inferno or Backdraft this is not the movie for you. If you are expecting a blockbuster type movie with amazing special effects then this movie is not for you.

This is a movie made in Albany GA, with writers, directors, actors, behind the scenes people, FROM Albany GA (except for Kirk). Will it win and Oscar??? NO. Will it make you laugh? yes. Will it make you cry? yes.

I for one (regardless of the fact that I know many, work with several, used to belong to Sherwood, and grew up in the same community) will always see any movie made by the Kendrick brothers from Sherwood Baptist Church. They do a wonderful job. It is BECAUSE of the wonderful job they do that Kirk signed on, Provident Films signed on, and Samuel Goldwyn Pictures as well as Sony signed on. It is not sex, drugs, rock and roll, shoot 'em up, beat 'em up, blow 'em up, drink their blood, fast cars, etc.
It IS a good family movie, with no bad language, no nudity, no killing. Not right for you???? Ready to roll your eyes???? It finished #4 in the country so there are plenty of people who DO want to see it.

Thanks for the warning that it made y'all cry. I don't care if a movie gets rave reviews and is Oscar worthy; hearing that any movie is a tearjerker means that I will NOT be seeing it. At least not in the theater :p.
