We stayed at the CR 3/22-3/31 via SOG in the North Garden Wing.

The first room we received looked pretty worn out and didn't have much of a view. It was on the 2nd floor facing the playground on the wing that runs along the lake. We called to see if there were any other rooms available but there weren't at that time.

Our first night we didn't sleep much because we had an elephant family above us, I swear they were stomping everywhere, they didn't stop till almost 1am and started again at 6am-ugh! So the next morning at 7:30am my DH walked down to the lobby and explained what happened and asked if we could move to the thrid floor. He said they were SO nice about it, they apologized, even though it wasn't there fault, over and over. Before my DH even returned the phone rang, it was the front desk. The CM said *I understand you didn't get much sleep last night and we're so sorry. It will change tonight because we are moving you right away! You're husband is on his way back right now, again we're so sorry* I couldn't believe it!

We rushed our stuff up stairs to our new 3rd floor room, same wing facing the same direction but now we could see the monrail! YAY! This room was VERY quiet! I highly recommend requesting the 3rd floor it was very peaceful up there.

It was great being right on the monrail and being able to walk to MK. The pool was fun although it's not really themed but it does have 2 sets of jumping fountains and fountains in the pool which my kids loved! It also has a water slide but my kids didn't go on it. The kids also loved the beach, we bought shovels and pails for 1.50 at the store at the CR. We left them behind when we left for others to use. My kids also loved the playground and the fact that it was right next to our room, they played there everyday on the way back from the parks.

Overall I really liked the CR although I missed the feeling of being away from it all I had on previous stays at the AKL,WL, Poly and POR. At the CR I always felt in the middle of it all where as at the others I felt almost like we had 2 seperate vacations in one. But if you want to stay literally in the middle of pure Disney 24 hours a day this is the place for you!

We loved the stores, Chef Mickeys and Concourse steakhouse . The only down side for us was the food court. After staying at the AKL with the Mara the CR food court was a disappointment.

We watched the EWP at a picnic table almost every night wiith the rest of the family that was on the trip(mom, dad, sister and BIL) That was a lot of fun. It didn't show up though our last night, not sure why because it played in the 7 seas lagoon but never made it over to us, bummer but oh well. We also did the fireworks cruise which was a lot of fun.

The CM's were all wonderful and mousekeeping was the best we've EVER had and we've been going to Disney for years! Over the course of our stay my mom bought my kids over 20 Mickey and friends beanies from all the countries in World showcase, well everyday the mousekeeper arranged them in crazy ways, hanging from the lights ect... the kids LOVED it! Also everyday we'd leave out refillable cups out after drinking with them in the morning when we returned she had washed them out and placed the in the bathroom, it was awesome! I couldn't believe she washed them everyday! Our room was always VERY clean, it even smelled clean and it was always done before noon, our mousekeeper was really top notch.

We had a really great stay!

If you have any questions just ask!!!

Would you mind sharing the room number of the room you liked so much so the community knows a good one to ask for?

Thanks
Jason

Sure it was number 8306. It was a walk from the lobby but if you walked outside it wasn't too bad, although there wasn't an elevator at that entrance, just steps. I think that the best rooms would probably be closer to the main building facing the playground but we enjoyed our location and love to walk so it didn't bother us.

Hi palmtreegirl! Thanks for the review :). We are especially interested in requesting a room with a view of the monorail. Do most of the wing rooms have a view of the monorail if we have reserved a standard room (parking lot view?). Would we want to ask for North or South wing? How convenient were the elevators with luggage etc up to the 3rd floor? We would love a patio but noise is a factor too . 3rd floor may be a consideration. Thanks for any help. Oh, also what did you like better about Mara over Food and Fun Center? Thanks :)

palmtreegirl thanks for a nice review!

We will be there for Easter! Can't wait!:teeth:

I have a few ???

Do they have coffee pots in the rooms in NGW?

How was the washer and dryer?

I have heard that a while back only two were working. I plan to do atleast one load.

TIA

Kimmie

How nice to hear you had such a wonderful stay at the CR! DH and DD (10mos) will be staying there in May through SoG also, and after hearing some bad review, I've still read enough really good reviews. Yours was very encouraging!

Tomorrow I'm going to call SoG to confirm our reservation. They also put us in the North Garden Wing. I will definitely ask for the 3rd floor. Can't wait! Your post has made me very happy, hehe!

Right now the North garden Wing is being used for the SOG people so i think you would get the South wing, this is also a great spot because it's close to the pool area. I think that if you are on the 3rd floor without a water view you should be able to see the monorail. I would just specifically request a view of the monorail if that's what you would like. There were elevators in the middle of the garden wing and on the end near the entrance closest to the main lobby, it was convient but after bringing our stuff in we always walked outside instead.

The Mara and Food and Fun center are very different. With the Mara you ordered your food and then sat down inside or out and they brought your food out to you. It's visually a nice place too. The F&FC is a little more chaotic, less tables and it offered less of a variety then I remembered at the Mara. At the F&FC you place your order then they give you a beeper and you return to the counter to get it. The only thing we used the F&FC for was snacks, breakfast stuff and drinks. It's nice and all, just a little crazy down there, that's all-lol.

No they weren't in the room but you could request one for free.

I didn't do laundry but my mom did and she said 2 washers were broken, 3 working. The dryers were really slow drying, after 2 cycles her things were still slighlty damp.

[bold]Trinity721[/bold]- Have a great trip!! I also forgot to add that we could see the fireworks at the MK from our room on the 3rd floor, it was really a neat surprise! I'm glad my post helped!
