Hello all! I am sad to say that I am home. But my trip was wonderful and I am already planning the next one. Here is a recap:
Saturday 11/13: Arrived at AKL around 11:30 am, room was not ready so off to MGM we went. Spent the day walking around MGM taking pics of our favorite Soap Stars. Back to AKL around 6:30 pm and checked into our room - 5424. What an amazing room! Perfect view of the whole pool area and right next to a window walkway, so it was very quiet. Had a salad at Mara for dinner and got to bed early.
Sunday 11/14: Woke up around 6:00 am and took off to MGM for day 2 of Super Soap. Got to meet some of my GH favs and took lots more pics. Left MGM around 5:00 pm and took the boat to Epcot for the end of the F&WF. There was so much good food it was unbelievable. My favorites were the cheese soup and salmon from Canada and the mussels from New Zealand.
Monday 11/15: Breakfast (cereal) on our balcony, then down to the pool. Spent most of the morning at the pool (love the slide) then we were off to MK. Very few lines except in Fantasyland. We jumped right onto Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Snow White. Made our way to DTD for dinner at Fulton's. This is our favorite place to eat in Disney, but we had a bit of a poor experience this time around. The service was so fast that our dinner was ready at the same time as our salad. We felt a bit rushed, but the manager came over and sent our dinner back assuring us we would get a fresh meal as soon as we were ready. So it all worked out in the end, everything was delicious.
Tuesday 11/16: Ordered room service for breakfast on our balcony. The banana stuffed french toast was terrific! We got two huge pieces that didn't need any butter or syrup, it was so good. Spent most of the morning at the pool again, more slide, then off to Epcot. Test Track was down for a while, I was quite disappointed. Had a turkey leg for lunch - my first time. Again, there were very few lines anywhere. We hopped right onto Figment, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Mexico & Norway boat rides. Then off to China for dinner at Nine Dragons. Yum! Then off to DTD for more shopping!!! And of course dessert at Ghiaradelli's.
Wednesday 11/17: Spent the morning at the pool and then checked out. It was very sad to leave. We had a 2:00 pm flight so we didn't get to spend much time at Disney that day.
Overall, it was a fabulous trip. AKL is a beautiful resort, very nicely decorated for the holidays. Enjoyed seeing the animals. I can't wait for my next Disney adventure. Please let me know if you have any questions.
