Just back from SSR

Not a trip report, just wanted to give our opinion on SSR. We've now stayed at all the on site DVC resorts and SSR is definitely one of our favorites. The resort is beautiful. The kids (especially our two 3 year olds) loved the main pool due to the little slide and zero entry area.

We actually liked the outside corridors, because we could walk back from the pool to the room without freezing in the air conditioning. Our oldest dd said she liked them because they added to the "race tracky charm". There's one in every family, isn't there?

The room was very nice, a little bit of carpet pulling in one spot, which I only noticed because I was sitting on the floor playing with the kids. We stayed in The Springs, and the only drawback was being the last bus stop on the way home. Cast members were all very friendly. Bus service was good, they had someone out one morning making sure buses were properly dispatched.

Now the crowds in the park were another matter, but we're used to going in September when it's all but empty, even with free dining. It seemed like the late night EMH were very crowded.

All in all, a nice stay, and a beautiful resort. We look forward to staying there again.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! My 3 year old son LOVES the little slide too. It makes him feel like a "big boy"!

We have several trips under our belt, and every time we stay, we find new reasons to love our home resort. I am finding it difficult to pull myself away to try other resorts.

Glad you enjoyed SSR....

SSR was my 1st DVC trip and I loved it also...I think SSR has one of the best pools on property...IMO.

Glad to hear you had a nice trip...we absolutely love SSR. To us it feels like its own little community. I think AP and the Turf Club are great...and the proximity to downtown Disney are just awesome. We have never had a bad stay at SSR. I have to say that I've stayed at the Boardwalk...the Beach Club...and OKW...(the only one I"ve missed is the WLV but we stay in the hotel part usually)...and without a doubt...we love SSR resort the best! I really get puzzled by some of the negative comments on here...even our teens love SSR.

SSR is my home resort too and my family LOVES it! I am always puzzled why SSR gets the number of negative comments. But in a way I'm glad it does that way there is more availability for all the SSR lovers out there. LOL

I really get puzzled by some of the negative comments on here...even our teens love SSR.

Me too, especially now that we've been there. It's very a very beautiful, relaxing resort. We'd stay again in a heartbeat. This time it was "what we could get" at short notice, but we were planning to stay there anyway.

Our home resort is BCV, which we love as well. Dh is talking about selling our smaller BCV contract when he gets back to buy at SSR.
