Just back from SSR

About the check out area at SSR, a different perspective. If one is waiting with hot food or ice cream would it be any different if you were in the line for food only and waiting behind someone with food too. You would still be waiting.

I used to think the system was not good, but this summer I saw many times when the food registers were busy and the retail was just not doing anything and they took the overflow of food customers and they did not have to wait in line as long.

Which is the reason they combined the store with the CS. That many times the CMs at the retail areas are just standing around not doing anything but due to the location being removed from the CS they can't help out. This way they can help the CS if they are not busy.

I get what you are saying & I don't totally disagree.

I think the things that stood out in my mind we due to what seemed like so many more people than usual were requiring additional help (package pick-up, wrapping breakables & shipping home, etc). And, at times, we were some of those people too.

Upon further thought, a single queue feeding all 3 registers would be a better suggestion. Or, during peak hours, use an additional cm as a bagger/runner for pkg p/u.

To me, the system felt that it just wasn't as efficient as it could have been. Nothing major. Just my 2 cents.

Great report! We don't like the busses either. And with 2 kids and a stroller much easier to drive. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the great review. Though we're not staying at SSR on our next trip, I am planning on going over to Artist's Palette for lunch the day we're at DTD. It sounds wonderful!

I remember those days... so glad to not have all the paraphernalia anymore.

Our kids are 12 & 9 & this was the first time I've actually gone through the No Bags entrance :cheer2:

I had streamlined down to a fanny pack for a while (camera, autograph books & pen, passes, money, purell & motrin) but this last trip I actually got it down to the camera around my neck & passes/room key in one pocket & a tin of motrin in the other & got one of those cute little purell's that attach to a belt loop! Done!

It's the little things that make me all giggle-y!

Just wait until your kids start going off to do stuff without you! Not that we let our kids roam but they are not attached to our hip anymore. It's strange & cool at the same time!
