Hi everyone. Just got back from the Sheraton Safari. I tried to take lots of pictures. I will post my first review and pictures as soon as I get a chance. I am practising for my first trip report in December at the WL:cool1: . Oh I was just wondering can I post pictures and review here or do I have to move this somewhere else? See ya real soon:lmao: .

Ok. In all fairness my little review of the “Sheraton Sefari” is based on 7hours or so at the hotel.

We were suppose to stay for a couple of nights, but my DH had an emergency at work and we had to go.

I was a little worried because I got this hotel on Priceline. It’s a little scary not knowing what you are going to get until it’s paid for.

At checkin I asked the lady if I could get a balcony. She said let me see whats available. I got the balcony.

I must say that the room had the cleanest rugs I have ever seen. And it was a light color too.
Since this is my second try at posting this review, the first one was like a long trip report. Mind you I was only there for 7hours.I will try to get to the point.
Here are some pictures since I love taking pictures.

The closet had an ironing board and a iron. The thing that impressed me most. Was the size of the safe. It could easily fit a laptop and camera.
The bathroom was also very clean.

It was nice that the sink was outside.

SheratonSafari066.jpg
It wasn’t that large but it might be the only snack slide that looks like a python.I was a little worried about the slide. I had read somewhere that the thing was a rusty. I didn’t notice too much rust. And the part that you actualy ride on was in pretty good condition.

I don’t think anybody would let their kid ride and a rusty one.DD climbing up to the slide. This area could have used a little bit of paint. DD did mind.Kiddie pool.I thought it was cuite that the garbage was in these cuite box

o there you have it. I was impressed with the cleanness. In fact I even went and passed my finger on a couple of places too see and they were clean. Which reminds me I have to clean the house lol

Location was great. Overall I would recommend. But I was only there a short time. I didn’t even get a chance to sleep on the bed. Hope this was somehow useful. Now let’s see if I can post this puppy.

Yikes sorry if my post makes no sense. I had a hard time posting the pictures and all with a restless baby on my lap. Her'es a couple more pictures

.

I forgot to mention. The pool has no lifeguard on duty. And the door is easy to open for a 15month old. We had to put the extra locks on it.

Great location. Room was very clean.

Thanks for posting all the pictures! I was going to stay at the Sheraton but then because of the bus schedule I changed it to a DTD hotel (Royal Plaza).
But it's nice to know this hotel would be an option in the future.
One question: I know this hotel allows animals..did you hear any barking?

Hi i stayed there last year and thought it was nice and the beds.......:wizard: :thumbsup2 .Sorry you had to cut your trip short.

rosiep I did see a couple of dogs, but I never heard them. I think it's true what I read on another post. Usually people that travel with dogs are well behaved. The dogs that is.:lmao:

I forgot to tell you how beautiful your daughter is! (She looks alot like my daughter did at that age).
Thanks for the info.

We just got back from an 8 night stay. We had a great time. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are an excellent value. We stayed in a Jr. Suite, which has one room with a kitchenette and pull out sofa-bed, then another bedroom with two queens and finally the bathroom area. Our balcony overlooked the pool area.

The location is sooooo convenient to driving to the parks. No traffic compared to other lodging locations on 192. Entrance to DTD is one block away and I-4 is two blocks away. The parks are easy access (about 15 minutes drive time) by just hopping on I-4 and going down one exit for EPCOT or MK and two exits for MGM or AK. Made it easy for afternoon breaks.

Lots of local restaurants w/i walking distance, including Olive Garden, Dennys, Qdoba (Mexican Fast Casual), Joe's Crab Shack, Macaroni Grill, Giordano's, Quizno's, Dunkin Donuts and Pizza Hut. There's a 7-11 across the street. About two blocks away is a Winn Dixie and ABC Liquor store.

Over 8 nights never heard any dogs.

Yes, great location and nice resort.

glad you both enjoyed your trips.

did any of you ride their shuttles?

Looking at the safari jr. suite also--website says they are in a "suite building" and have exterior corridors. Did yours?

If so, was it noisy having a door to the outside--like motels?

Did you like having the suite?

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

We did like the suite, but we stayed for free on Sheraton Preferred Guest points. However, I think the going rate for the Jr. Suite room is around $200/night and if I were paying for several nights in the area, I'd probably look for a rental condo. Personally, I imagine a $600-700 condo for a week would be better than spending $1,400 for a week at the Sheraton.

The Jr. Suites do have the exterior corridor. The only time we really noticed noise was probably in the 7:00am-8:30am time when people were heading out to the parks or loading their cars and that was probably because we were also up and preparing to leave at that time.

Even though they have the exterior corridor, the Kitchenette/living room area is the room closest to the corridor. The only people that could potentially be bothered by noise would be the ones sleeping on the sleeper sofa, as there is a door between the living room and the bathroom area and then you must walk throught the bathroom area and through another door to get to the bedroom in the back. So sleeping in the bedroom is well away from the corridor with a total of 3 doors to help block any potential noise (Entry door and 2 bathroom doors).

We stayed there for 3 weeks last October and loved it!

Clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff.:cloud9:

We didn't hire a car, and used their shuttle regularly. It was always on time, and had a fair selection of times both to and from the parks. We took a cab on several occasions - only $10 to $15 per trip. The hotel is also within walking distance of DTD.

DD asks quite often when we are going back to sleep in the "zebra beds" LOL!

BTW - we never heard any animals (except the piped in "jungle" sounds in and around the hotel) during our whole 3 weeks there!

Does anyone know the shuttle sch? How far is the walk to DTD?:goodvibes
Thanks

This hotel has been through quite a bit. It was originally constructed as a Days Inn and operated as such for many years. It then converted to a Wyndham, but just couldn't make a go of that franchise. As such, it changed to the Sheraton brand, that it currently is. We stayed there a couple of years ago and found the hotel to be quite comfortable. It may not be your typical Sheraton, but it was clean and convenient.
