Just back from Saratoga Springs Resort

We just got back from a eight nights at SSR in a 1BR unit in the Congress Park section of the resort. We LOVED SSR and plan to stay there again if we can.

Our unit overlooked downtown Disney and had a great view of the midnight fireworks show. We had a nice kitchen, washer/dryer, big tub with jets, and huge shower. The living room had a DVD player as well. Maid service was great, with a few little "treats" being left every so often, such as a towel folded to look like a swan that the kids loved.

We went to the pool once and it was very nice, and quiet, the kids loved the fountains and the water slides. The pool is heated to 82 degrees so it was usable on even the 70 degree days that we had while we were there.

The Artist's Palette has great food and is also very quiet. The house salad and the pulled pork flatbread are not to be missed. Each night they had a different special, the two we tried were very good. The grocery selection is kind of limited though, so we went to one of the stores off of Route 535 for water, juice, cereal etc.

We spent a few mornings at the tot lot as well, and found it a nice way for the kids to run around while one of us stayed behind to get ready for the parks. We didn't have any issues with construction as it was all going on on the other side of the street from the section we stayed in.

Bus service to/from the parks was reliable and not very crowded. The short walk to downtown disney was convenient as well. However People are discovering that a bus ride to SSR makes a nice short-cut to downown disney versus taking the DTD buses directly from the parks, so the buses will likely fill up in the future. We also took the boat one night from the golf club area across to DTD, it was a nice trip, but took way longer than walking.

Overall the feel of the place is very relaxing, it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was wonderful, and we'd definately recommend it to all. :earseek:

Nice review! We stayed there last June and really enjoyed it. Bus service was great considering only 2 buildings were open at the time, too.

DW and I feel the same. We spent 9 nights there in August when the 4th building was just opened. Although we liked the Artists Pallette, we felt it needed more.

Nice review! I'm glad you had a nice time. It is really a beautiful resort!

Thanks for the review. SSR sounds wonderful. We never stayed in a home away from home, but would like to try it once.

I don't think there are DTD buses from the parks. I know that my Godson wanted to go to disneyquest and his dad told him to catch the bus outside of Epcot. When he got out to the bus stop the disney CM told him there were no buses to DTD and he needed to catch a bus to a resort and transfer. The castmember suggested the SSR bus because it was the closest. Kind of like when you want to go to AKL from another resort, they recommend that you take the AK bus and transfer, because it's the closest. Not sure that's really fair to the SSR folks, especially at park closing when people want to go and party at DTD. I bet the SSR buses will get crowded.
